Welcome!

Hello, B.Moir, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Onyeka, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

Help[edit]

{{helpme}}

The references needed we are trying to locate however they would only be articles in local newspapers.

What else can we do to improve our page about Onyeka?

B.Moir (talk) 14:15, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Local newspapers are usually considered to be reliable sources. Please give as much detail as possible in the reference, in-line, and preferably using a citation template. See user:chzz/help/ref and user:chzz/help/refs for tips on this.
As the article Onyeka is a Biography of a living person, we are especially careful about citing every fact. Please read WP:BLP.
If there are no reliable sources to verify facts, then those facts must be removed. If there are insufficient reliable sources to confirm notability (per Wikipedia:Notability (people)), then the article is not suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia.
Please note that all of those messages at the top of the article are intended to help improve it; they include links to useful information. You could also check in the article history to see who added the tags, and leave a message on their talk page to seek further clarification.
Good luck,  Chzz  ►  14:50, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Onyeka, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:13, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That article is not yours; nobody "owns" an article in Wikipedia. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:11, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Onyeka, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:14, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Message on my talk page[edit]

You use the word "we" in your edit. Is this account used by more than one person? --Orange Mike | Talk 15:11, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, "we" is the wrong wording.

The article is important to document the work of Onyeka and the books especially documents the life and times of the community. The site was not intended to be that of an ad nor to be a COI. I have seen that you have dramatically removed much of the text. So please inform me what more could be the problem.

The template removal was not intentional but it was just to make the page look better as there was a comment added that said we did not comply to the layout standards so I tried to make the page more tidy.

The required citation is now on the page!

Please reply.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Black Prince Book Cover.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Black Prince Book Cover.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:11, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
