Educational institutes

Hi, Last time at WP:INB we had a consensus of sorts to not include names without articles. Did anything change after that? What do you suggest should be done with these kind of edits. "No article no inclusion"? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:45, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi Fylindfotberserk - I see they have already been deleted, which is what I would have done, as these particular additions had neither articles nor references.
As per WP:SOURCELIST "all individual items on the list must follow Wikipedia's content policies: the core content policies of Verifiability (through good sources in the item's one or more references) ...."
Lists of notable people are fairly clearly "No article = no inclusion", but other topics are less clear.
If there are references, but no articles, I usually insert a "clean-up list template", below the entries with articles, and above those without, and leave a few months to see if articles are forthcoming, before deleting the redlinks
I can't point to a specific policy or guideline to support my actions, but I have only had one or two comments/complaints (so far) - Arjayay (talk) 11:07, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestions. And WP:Independent WP:RS when checking for the sources. I mean, there are 2 rooms schools with fairly decent websites of their own and mention in some not so WP:RS aggregator sources. Thanks again . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:43, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
Would you kindly keep an eye on this, the change is obviously a case of vandalism. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:16, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Urali Gounder rescued from sockpuppets

I noted that you were trying to work with some of the "contributors" to Urali Gounder who were making major changes to the page without good reason. Turns out there were lots of sockpuppets involved: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Urali gounder Tn45. The page is currently much smaller than it was, but I do not have the expertise to fix it. Thought I'd alert you as you seem to have knowledge and interest in the area. Thanks. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 01:05, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Kerala United FC

Why did you remove some of the current staff details from our page? Photographer (talk) 16:43, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

Badusha fahad TP -
Firstly, please understand it is not "your" page - it is Wikipedia's page about Kerala United FC and people with a conflict of interest, like you, should not be editing the page.
As for the staff details, we only include Notable staff - not minor positions like photographer - which also appears to be you trying to self-promote yourself.
In addition, MOS:DRAFTNOLINK states "do not link to pages outside the article namespace" - that includes drafts, user pages, and sandboxes.
Given your conflict of interest, please do not edit that page again, but follow the conflict of interest guidelines - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 17:08, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

Awan tribe

Please don't revert the price of sentence on awan page, it is relevant and part of genetic report as I have written it with references, Ali Imran Awan (talk) 03:06, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Ali Imran Awan Repeatedly changing to "Department of enetics of Hazara University, Pakist.an" is clear vandalism, and will continue to be reverted. - Arjayay (talk) 09:48, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Hello

Hi, I see that you reverted some of my edits regarding Arabic Names. Why?

These are Arabic Origin Names that were loaned into different languages. The articles make it seem as if otherwise. One could implement that these names were loaned into the different languages, but they are not the original owners of these names. WatanWatan2020 (talk) 16:56, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

To add, for example, the name “suleiman” .. you reverted it back to the wrong information. Suleiman is a cognate of the Hebrew name “Shlomo”. It does not derive from it. Why? Because Both are semitic languages that will share similar names in certain cases. So, your reversion is an error and brings back erroneous information onto the article. Look at the content my friend, simply do not go for reversions just because.

Let me know what you think so we can provide the solution to this matter. WatanWatan2020 (talk) 16:59, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Perfect Pair

I have sent thanks before, but wanted to express my thanks in long form here for your continued proof reading of my work. It is a huge help. I have been taking several stubs to solid articles which can be a chore. But when I pull together many sources and write a lot, I always have a typos or duplicated works or the like. I try to find errors, but have been spoiled by having editors or proof readers in real life. I love that you seem to specialize in reviewing the type of articles I like to work on. It feels like the perfect paring to me. So thanks for your work and help!!!!Rublamb (talk) 00:38, 28 February 2022 (UTC)

Your user page ...

Hi Arjayay! I hope you're doing well! I was going through some logs, and I saw that your user page has been torn up a number of times by vandals and trolls. I also noticed that it had no protection at all. I went ahead and fixed that for you. ;-) If you don't want this protection applied and would like it removed, let me know and I'll be happy to do that for you. I just figured I'd help you out and let you know about it. ;-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:08, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

Explain how to approach the Chief Wikipedia administration and register a complaint

I'm constantly complaining about people who do not have a Wikipedia account, which site I have to report my complaint to, Even though I have posted my complaint many times on the Dhobi talk page I still have not made any changes on what grounds you refuse to defend it Baba God (talk) 14:28, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

I'm complaining about having to post this article, but you say you'll block me, and then there's a solution to this,It is my opinion that Wikipedia should be a neutral one so that people can see only the truth in it and remove the lies Baba God (talk) 14:31, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
Baba God - if you want a page to be considered for protection, you need to request that, with reasons, at WP:Requests for page protection, not at Talk:Dhobi.
Do not vandalize the article, as you did, by adding a fake protection symbol, since that page has never been protected.
Finally, I was not threatening you, nor saying that I would block you - I can't because I am not an Admin - I was forewarning you what the likely result would be, if you continued vandalizing the page. - Arjayay (talk) 16:44, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Overlinking

Thank you for your correction on the Fibromyalgia page: "Reduce overlinking - only link the first use + do not link common words." What do you mean by "common words"? SigTif (talk) 05:45, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi SigTif, thank you for your work at Fibromyalgia (my partner suffers), and for your question - if only there was an easy answer.
The relevant advice is at WP:Overlinking which includes several different types of overlinking to avoid, but with regard to common words specifically states:-
What generally should not be linked .... Everyday words understood by most readers in context (e.g., education, violence, aircraft, river)
As with much Wikipedia guidance, it raises as many questions as it answers, but avoids a ridiculously long exhaustive list, which would only create arguments about the inclusion/exclusion of specific words.
Many simple nouns are generally understood, however concepts such as "violence" are more complex, but are still to be avoided, the key is "in context".
Personally, I try and imagine what a reader, whose first language is not English, (a high percentage of readers of the English Wikipedia) but has an intermediate knowledge of English, and a very basic "English to their local language" dictionary, would make of it. The examples "education, violence, aircraft, river" they would either know, or would be in their dictionary. We try to avoid "dumbing down" as there is the Simple English Wikipedia for those whose English is not so good.
Please also see MOS:REPEATLINK for the guidance on the few situations when it is acceptable to repeat wikilinks. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 11:33, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Ok I will take care of that in future , thank you for your correction Potatochips90 (talk) 01:39, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

About Deleted RV in Irreligion in Bangladesh

The edit was about the problem and limitation of the GALLUP SURVEY in Irreligion in Bangladesh. Firstly, their Sampling Rate was objectionable (in a Muslim dominated country of more than 140 million (in 2014), which is also stated HERE. They only considered "convinced atheists" as the chief criteria for "NON-RELIGION/IRRELIGION". But there are other views that are AGAINST RELIGION but NOT AGAINST GOD/DEIST, these figures MUST BE weighted for sampling, which they did not. Even there are sects right in Islam that don't believe in an afterlife, which might sound like Atheism but they are not. The word "NON-RELIGION/IRRELIGION" and "Atheism" shouldn't be used interchangeably. Plz do MARK the name of the page, which is "Irreligion in Bangladesh", NOT "Atheism in Bangladesh", hence the problem arises in a page titled with Irreligion in Bangladesh. You will also find the difference in Data and the changes of definition in different Surveys in List of countries by irreligion.

Secondly, there IS NO DATA served by the apparent Muslim Government, which specifically talks about all the Irreligion in Bangladesh. People cant, I repeat, they CANT put "atheist" or the like in ANY GOVT. credentials/ID/Passport etc. Many tried but govt. officials changed that to their default religion of "Faith-by-Birth" without their permission. Check these pages for problems with individuals declaring themselves atheist in Bangladesh (Irreligion in Bangladesh and Discrimination against atheists). You CAN NOT find A SINGLE govt. id/passport/credential with anything other than "a religion" in Bangladesh.

Talk about Guy Standing edit war for podcast Reply All

Hi!

My name is Kim Nederveen Pieterse and I'm a podcast producer for a show about life on the Internet called Reply All. We're currently preparing an episode about Wikipedia, and I'd love to do a segment on the Guy Standing edit war to shed a humorous light on how Wikipedia gets made. I noticed that you were one of the first people to respond to a request for a joke on the page. I'm curious about your perspective on this controversial matter, and your experiences more broadly editing Wikipedia. I'd be thrilled to hear from you. Since the deadline is coming quick, if you're up for a chat please email me by Monday at kimnp@gimletmedia.com.

Help

CJK1979 (talk) 12:19, 3 May 2022 (UTC) Hi you were so helpful in providing me with support on editing a page I have a conflict of interest with. I have today actually made my first edit and I wondered if you might be able to see if I've done it correctly. I'm hopeless with technology and just want to ensure I've done everything as I should. If you get a moment would you drop me a line on my talk page to discuss? Thank you so so much!

CJK1979 (talk) 12:19, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi CJK1979 -sorry for the delay in responding - some initial points:-
  1. New posts go at the bottom of all talk pages, not the top, so I have moved your post
  2. That article and its talk page are only on 45 editors watchlists, so you need to flag your edit by adding the {{request edit}} template, which adds it to the centralized list of all such edits, and expands to larger explanatory text - again I have done that for you
  3. You have still not declared your conflict of interest / paid editing please read and follow Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#General_COI - If your edits could be construed as paid editing - e.g. if you work for Nationwide, you MUST make the paid editing declaration before making any further edits
  4. Your proposed edit includes two external links, which we do not allow in the bodytext of articles, please read and follow Help:Referencing for beginners - I would do this as soon as you have declared your COI / Paid editing, as a reviewing editor could refuse your suggestion until it has been corrected
Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 20:02, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

New page - Light for Riley

Hello Arjayay. Thanks for reading over (and correcting a typo in) my new page Light for Riley back on April 23. I’m looking forward to it being indexed by the search engines. So I’m wondering if that will happen soon, or will I have to wait till the end of the 90 day automatic waiting period? Thanks again 330highflyer (talk) 01:14, 10 May 2022 (UTC)

Sorry 330highflyer, I have no knowledge of, or any interest in, indexing by search engines.
As per Wikipedia:Controlling search engine indexing. you either wait 90 days, or, if sooner, until the page has been reviewed by a new pages reviewer (which I am not). Then you have to wait for the search engine crawlers to crawl round to the article, which I assume will be different for each search engine - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 12:16, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
Thanks very much for your reply. That clears up a few misunderstandings on my part. Cheers 330highflyer (talk) 09:03, 11 May 2022 (UTC)

You sent me one of those Wikipedia messages alleging I sign my posts. I thought I was simply adding four tildes - which I am going to do here as well - in order to make sure they stuck and stayed posted. If Wikipedia's conventions have changed in this regard it hasn't bothered to tell me - unless you are taking it on yourself to do so, but you don't actually say so. It's actually bad enough trying to get things right without in addition having to ponder what the community is actually saying, or even whither it is actually communicating at all. Attempts to Hijack entries by several users

Martin Machelivich & several Anon & newer users Are attempting to gain a new entry listing for Kent McLellan, as well as page edits for: Arsen Pavlov, Ukraine Military Regiments, Azov Battalion, National Corps, Ken McLellan of Brutal Attack, Bucha Massacre, Ukraine POW, Atomwaffen, Warcrimes, Donbass 2014 & Russian invasion of Ukraine 2022. This are repeated by 2 people & growing additional groups & individuals trying to hijack several entries re Ukraine Invasion 2022.

Martin Machelivich aka Vasily Prozorov is simply an ex SBU officer, wanted in Ukraine for espionage since 2018. He has long been trying to establish himself as a credible source of information. He is attempting to add a "face" as a poster for an enemy that does not exist.

I applaud the editors of Wikipedia thus far and ask them to remain vigilant in any changes made whether on any Azov Regiment related link,  Ken McLellan of Brutal Attack, Arsen Pavlov, Bucha Massacre, Ukraine POW, Atomwaffen or any other white-supremacy group in Wikipedia, and certainly to not allow creating a new page that would amount to hijacking Wikipedia as a propaganda, tabloid gossip site used for self-promotion & to gain a credible foothold by those with no standing for self or negatives interests.

VASILY PROZOROV fled the Ukraine after being discovered that he never accepted Ukraine being separate from Russia and that his role in SBU of Ukraine he spied for the Russian Federation during the Ukrainian uprising by the people in Euromaiden and passed logistical government secrets to the DPR Dunbass region starting in 2014. Furthermore his alcoholism he claims was the reason he stole from the people and the government NY taking bribes and money that  caused an investigation and seizing of his assets.

Because of his need of protection with Russia for all these years, he is used by them to push various agendas and misinformation campaigns both against America, as well as against Ukraine. His information and documents he used in espionage where never seen credible by the Russian Federation after he arrived there so was never asked for testimony in court. He has ramped up his tactics of lying about who he is and what he does again as of 2022 in order to find and publish anything to discredit America, or any NATO country supporting an Independent Ukraine. He has drilled down on those that fought for Ukraine in 2014, made flat out false accusations then as he is doing now. He uses his own inquires he made to FBI in 2014 as "proof" of investigations that did not take place, creates videos and inserts himself in Russian Media and volunteers his expertise to unwitting Western news agencies to try to plant various ideas. He has included false photos, links to unverified or new social media accounts and has presented himself to various Azov commanders as a biographer working on behalf of Zelensky during preliminary reviews of those who are to be considered for Presidential Military Honors, all a lie as a way to curry favor & piece together half-truths.

He has now linked up with: DEREK "DIABLO" ALVAREZ from Florida. who is NOT active in any organization as an anti-rascist but a recently released from prison convict who at 50+years is again using various schemes to make money. He has moved away from his last scheme with Vice TV regarding American Hooligan football league that never happened to promoting MMA style fights that can not be produced legitimately and attempting to live off monies he can gather both illegally in various small time racketeering enterprises. His goal is to create hype & solicit money to produce a fight with Kent McLellan creating hype around "Boneface" as a Defender of Ukraine with his personal ideology to discredit Ukraine defense of theor lands.

Derek Alvarez took various images, random videos and made all sorts of claims to pump up an anticipated fight up as GOOD vs EVIL and with no basis in fact randomly identified McLellan as a perpetrator of warcrimes in a video upload.

Kent McLellan whether his ideology remains or not, is both unknown and irrelevant to any entry in Wikipedia. It is irrelevant as to anyone who defends Ukraine in action or otherwise and is not reactive of the US Government involved in anything as Vasily Prozorov latest Blog post, an attempt to be credible news, purports.

Slandering and creating lies and bias on "the way someone "looks", utilizing gossips and flat out lies whether to promote Russian interests by Vasily Prozorov aka Martin Machelivich or by a street con-man like Derek Alvarez  is not based in fact.

Any decision or promotions for such theatricas as Derek Alvarez, whether in agreement or nor with Kent McLellan who has now ended his tour in Ukraine and returned to America, is between them and in no way part of Wikipedia or should be able to be used as a credible source. are people aware of future harm

Hi there mate, I saw this and of course millions of other examples, and I can't help feeling bad for this lad, in that he may not be aware that he's leaving a permanent record of him trying to promote himself on WP that will stay there for the rest of his life. Do you think we could slightly tweak these messages or something else, to try to make them aware? Because ultimately they are harming themselves more than they're harming WP. Anyway, just a thought. Dr. Vogel (talk) 14:57, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi Dr. Vogel - whilst I understand your concern, I am at a loss to think of a wording that would dissuade editors like this one, who repeatedly tries to use Wikipedia for self-promotion. Since your post, his User-page has been deleted, again. He has been an editor for over 2 years but advice offered to him has always been ignored - any suggestions as to how we can dissuade his self-promotional intent would be appreciated - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 19:00, 24 May 2022 (UTC)

Religion in Nigeria

I am sorry that you thought I was vandalising the page. I only did that because it was pretty accurate especially since now as the country’s population is rapidly increasing. Not only the Muslims’ population in the north of the country has increased rapidly, but the Muslim population of my tribe, the Yoruba ethnic group, has increased rapidly. As a result, it is also starting to become true that my people are becoming a predominantly Muslim ethnic group. The Hausa people are just about all Muslim while the Igbo people are virtually all Christian. The Yoruba ethnic group is in terms of religion, are split based on how large the Hausa people and the Igbo people are to one another. The Hausa people being a little bit over twice as large as the Igbo people, the Yoruba Muslims are a little bit over twice as large as the Yoruba Christians. This is due to similar history. When the Fulani jihad happened to strike Hausaland, the Fulanis came for us right away or almost immediately. When Igboland became Christian, there was a mass conversion of the Yoruba people to Christianity. So do you now see why I re-edited the information? Abal126 (talk) 20:34, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

Mahalaxmi Express Edit

You talked About the edit on Mahalaxmi Express page was not from a reliable source, it was from a Times of India article which appeared in the newspaper between 30 May and 4 June, I don't know the exact date but the date range of when I read the article Aayutist11 (talk) 17:33, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

No Aayutist11, my edit summary was "Rv unsourced changes" - nothing about reliable sources, as you hadn't included any sources. As for your post above, if/when you find the article, you can cite that as a source, and re-add your addition, but as when citing any periodical, it should cite the date and page number, or an URL to an on-line version, so readers can check your edit at any time in the future. Greetings.

I have one small issue with you removing Cadolorian from list of musical scales and modes. So you removed it because it was linked to a draft page. I am fine with this. But I am curious as to why on the "list of musical scales and modes" article, 21 equal temperament is linked to an article that does not exist. It also does not show up when searching on the internet. Please explain why something that doesn't have any article gets to be on the page.

Firstly, as is clearly stated on the line immediately above your addition ♦♦♦ Please put new posts at the BOTTOM of the page and include a title set between double == signs ♦♦♦
As for your question, I assume you are User:Khaderjadcherla Using an IP address, as that is the only edit at Jadcherla I have reverted since November 2020.
The reason for my reversion was clearly stated in my edit summary "Unsourced, unclear, SHOUTING" - (1) your addition was totally unsourced, (2) it was also unclear (I'm afraid your English is not very good), and (3) it included SHOUTING i.e. the misuse of capital letters in an article.
Those are three very good reasons for reverting your edit - Wikipedia is NOT interested in who you are, where you are from, or what you "know" it is ONLY interested in what has already been published in Reliable sources, which MUST be cited, so the claims can be checked. Please do not re-add unsourced, unclear, material - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 20:16, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

As already explained above, we need Reliable sources published by an independent publisher with a reputation for fact checking.
There would be absolutely no point in anyone going to Jadcherla, to "see" anything - as that would not constitute the reliable published sources that Wikipedia requires; but would be WP:Original research which is never allowed.
Please read WP:Reliable sources for the sort of things we are looking for, and the things to avoid - particularly self published material, and that published by non-independent sources. - Arjayay (talk) 20:59, 16 June 2022 (UTC)

Sorry, but no - for three reasons:-

  1. Google maps is not considered a particularly reliable source - see the numerous discussions in this list
  2. The fact that something is shown on Google maps is no indication that it is "notable" and suitable/eligible for inclusion in Wikipedia
Numerous buildings; mosques, temples, churches, schools, shops, and even my house, are shown on Google maps, but that does not mean they should be included in a world-wide encyclopedia
  3. There is no reference explaining the "Dargah name" and why it is important/relevant

Prayagraj

English-language news media can also be very reliable sources. Due caution must be given to the possibility of bias in some, such as for nationalistic, religious or political reasons. However, major global sources are generally reliable, such as major authoritative English-language newspapers (examples: The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Times of London) or wire services (examples: Reuters, Associated Press). Google News and Lexis-Nexis search results can provide a quick guide to the relative predominance of alternative names across the media as a whole, provided the search parameters are properly set, but as with all raw search numbers, they should be used with caution. Thus in various news channel such as The Washington Post( here is the link https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/05/06/india-social-media-covid-19/ ) and the BBC News too is addressing this city as Prayagraj. So its should be like Prayagraj, formally known as Allahabad as per the WP:COMMONNAME Curious man123 (talk) 12:39, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

Editing Mistakes

Hello @Arjayay:. You might have thought that the edits which I made to Aranmanai 3 was not constructive and changes which I made to Sulthan (2021 film) was done without providing a reliable source. But then I added the citation needed template. But still why you reverted it? Also in Aranmanai 3, I just tried to block a fake information stating that the film was a pan Indian film dubbed in different languages but actually its not a pan Indian film. That film was released only in Tamil. Sometimes I do make mistakes but it’s better to correct it so that I can rectify. I just want to try to make maximum to Wikipedia without vandalizing it.109.177.10.208 (talk) 19:18, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

You do not add unsourced claims and think that adding the "citation needed" template absolves your responsibility for providing a source - if you don't have a source, don't add the claim. Please read and follow WP:BURDEN "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source" - (the guidelines bold, not mine) - Arjayay (talk) 19:24, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi FlamemanTN, as explained in my edit summary, it is as per the guidance at Template:Infobox military conflict. The Flora and Fauna in Dominican Republic

Collapsed long post by blocked user

Amphibians

Birds

Mammals

The mammals that lives in (the Dominican Republic and Haiti, Hispaniola).

Reptiles

Flora

Also extremely important are the rarely mentioned species of Pinguicula casabitoana (a carnivorous plant), Gonocalyx tetraptera, Gesneria sylvicola, Lyonia alaini and Myrcia saliana, as well as palo de viento (Didymopanax tremulus), jaiqui (Bumelia salicifolia), pino criciolio) (pino criciol) , sangre de pollo (Mecranium amigdalinum) and palo santo (Alpinia speciosa).

According to reports in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, the flora in this naturally protected area consists of 621 species of vascular plants, of which 153 are highly endemic to La Hispaniola. The most prominent endemic species of flora that abound in the area are Ebano Verde (green ebony), Magnolia pallescens, a highly endangered hardwood.

Plants

The plants that are found in (the Dominican Republic and Haiti, Hispaniola).

And Dominican Republic and Haiti are both located on the same island of Hispaniola, so I cannot see why you decide to remove this because of a silly thing and a not necessary thing or a because of a unnecessary reason. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.186.114.37 (talk) 16:24, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

erm... Is it appropriate notifying about RMs in such way? —usernamekiran (talk) 14:20, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
Hi User:Usernamekiran firstly, I don't know what is wrong with your signature, but it doesn't seem right to me
As for your question - the relevant guideline is Wikipedia:Canvassing - in a nutshell "When notifying other editors of discussions, keep the number of notifications small, keep the message text neutral, and don't preselect recipients according to their established opinions. Be open!"
  1. the user notified 8 others - 8 seems a "small" number to me
  2. the message the user left is neutral - it asks for an opinion, without any attempt to persuade the reader
  3. I don't know how the user selected the recipients, but, ignoring the blocked user, they all have over 7,300 edits - which is probably how I would select recipients - experienced editors who generally know the basic policies and the need to keep to them
In summary, notifications are allowed, and, IMHO, this example seems to keep to the guidance - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 14:39, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
Correction - one of the recipients only has 3,401 edits - but that doesn't change my opinion - Arjayay (talk) 14:48, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
yes, thats why I didnt outright say it was canvassing Although, I was not sure how they selected the other editors.
Not sure what you mean about the signature. It is looking fine to me. —usernamekiran (talk) 15:24, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

The reason I’m writing to you on your talk page is to address your edits in the CNN Newsroom (International TV program) page. As the writer of the paragraph can you please stop changing broadcasted to broadcast. Please also see the attached note I have to write everytime I edit it to the way how it was:

Hi Ethan0431 - at the top of this page there is a detailed, and extremely long-standing, explanation of why broadcasted is changed to broadcast in Wikipedia articles. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 08:25, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
Ethan0431 I see that, despite this detailed explanation of why broadcasted is changed to broadcast in Wikipedia articles, you reverted my changes, which were made to comply with WP:COMMONALITY. Please note that, the fact that you were "the writer of the last 4 paragraphs" is totally irrelevant - every word, sentence, paragraph or entire article, has been written by someone - and can be changed by any other editor, provided their edits are not contrary to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. My edit was in accordance with WP:COMMONALITY, whereas your edit was contrary to that. To avoid an edit war, I invite you to revert your edit. Many thanks - Arjayay (talk) 16:25, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

Predatory sources

Hi, how would I be able to find a list for predatory sources so I can avoid adding them in the future? Thanks. Hecatesss (talk) 15:34, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi Hecatesss that is a very good question. As stated in Wikipedia:Vanity and predatory publishing "Wikipedia cannot conduct such an expert analysis of sources, and must instead rely on the analysis of other experts in the field." So there is no "official list", however, the "See also" section on that page lists 4 possible sources of such lists.
Alternatively, although Beall's List stopped being updated in 2017, it is still available and is also being updated by an anonymous academic - see the three "External links" at the foot of the Beall's List page. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 15:52, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
