The Bible does not call it divination which is prohibited

September 2022[edit]

Hello, I'm Duonaut. I noticed that in this edit to Urim and Thummim, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Duonaut (talk | contribs) 07:18, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

re. Divination[edit]

While your personal interpretation maybe does not allow for divination, many sources, even Christian, describe it as such: https://bible.org/question/how-did-urim-and-thummim-function https://www.christianity.com/wiki/christian-terms/meaning-and-use-of-urim-and-thummim-in-the-bible.html This after a cursory Google search. Per WP:NPOV I think it is this fine to describe them that way; furthermore, wouldn’t trying to obtain knowledge through supernatural means be divination by definition? Hope this explains things. I don't know what you're trying to do, but please stop making random requests at user talk pages. Thank you. NytharT.C 11:39, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Which god?[edit]

Are you referring to Zeus, Ra, Odin, Vishnu, Yahweh, or some other one? Surely a god wouldn't care what squiggles we lowly mortals would use to refer to or name them? Adakiko (talk) 12:23, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
