Hello ÓCathail. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:ÓCathail. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=ÓCathail|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 11:39, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear 311 dot,
Thank you for your feedback. I have now entered the required details on my page:
This user, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by 1Team1Earth on behalf of New Vision Film Studios Africa for their contributions to New Vision Film Studios Africa.
May I ask if the article will be reconsidered for Articles for Creation?
Many thanks

So sorry ... 331 dot. ÓCathail (talk) 11:52, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are permitted to resubmit the draft if you can address the concerns. You did a nice job documenting what this company does- but we are looking for more than that- you must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. Most of your sources seem to be announcements of routine business activities- this does not establish notability. We are looking for sources with coverage beyond that, that go into detail about what the source sees as important/significant/influential about the company. Please read Your First Article.
I would also suggest that you read WP:BOSS and have your clients and/or superiors read it too. 331dot (talk) 11:56, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 331 dot,
I have made some amendments from copy found in source material.
Like Cape Town Film Studios' Wiki page, I have added an external link. Was the CPT Film Studios page approved because of the number of films they have worked on?
If this article is not approved, will it remain available for me to edit as new independent coverage becomes available?
Thank you
Tracy ÓCathail (talk) 12:59, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That an article exists does not necessarily mean that it was "approved" by anyone. As this is a volunteer project where people do what they can when they can, it is possible for inappropriate articles to get by us. We can only address what we know about. It's not usually a good idea to use other articles as an example or model unless they are classified as good articles, which have been vetted by the community.
The draft will remain active as long as you edit it at least once every six months. 331dot (talk) 13:10, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I didn't base my article on the CPT Film Studio's one, just noted the external link, and that they have a page on Wiki.
I don't think their article is inappropriate at all, I'm just curious as to why it was accepted - it must have gone through the Wiki system, as mine has done, and was wondering why the one SA film studio is regarded as notable and not the other.
I will continue to edit my article as new, independent sources become available.
Thank you for your assistance.
Kind Regards
Tracy Cahill ÓCathail (talk) 13:30, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not all articles in existence have gone through the submission process. The submission process has not existed the entire time Wikipedia has existed, nor are all users required to use it. It's also possible that articles that were approved drafts have degraded over time, or that standards have gotten stricter. This is why each article or draft is considered on its own merits.
Not every company in a particular field merits an article- it depends on the sources. Competitors meriting articles does not necessarily mean your studio does too. If I create the 331dot Film Studio, it does not merit an article just because other studios do. 331dot (talk) 13:33, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I get it. I was just querying.
Why are not all users required to use the submission process? ÓCathail (talk) 13:45, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because experienced users don't necessarily need their work reviewed. Reviews are conducted by volunteers and there aren't enough volunteers to timely review drafts now. 331dot (talk) 13:33, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those who have a conflict of interest(like yourself as a paid editor) must use the submission process, so independent editors first review your work for neutrality. 331dot (talk) 13:38, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you 331dot,
I understand; thank you for explaining.

More than one article on a User|Home Page[edit]

Good day Wikipedia,

I am on Wikipedia and recently submitted a page for approval. I have amendments to make to that page before re-submitting it and have advised my clients that we have six months in which to do that.

I am a paid writer, which I have divulged on my Home Page.

I have been asked by my client to submit a second and third page on separate subjects. May I do that under the same Home Page or do I have to create a different Home Page for each article?

Thank you

Tracy ÓCathail (talk) 13:18, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you are addressing Wikipedia as a whole, it's doubtful others will see this post- I see it because this page is in my watchlist. You should use the Help Desk to address the community about a question.
To answer you, I'm not sure what you mean by "Home Page". You may create additional drafts using the article wizard, or you may create a link to a draft that doesn't exist yet(like Draft:Draft123) and then click it to begin creating it, but if you do that you will need to manually add the submission information({{subst:AFC draft}}) in order to submit it. Using the wizard saves you from doing that. 331dot (talk) 13:36, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 331 dot,
Thank you so much for this information, it is much appreciated.

Dear WikiOriginal-9,
I am stumped as to why this submission has not been accepted.
Could you be more specific as to our reason - Not enough significant, independent coverage.
