Royston Greenwood (*1944, Bradford[1]) is Telus Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Alberta in Canada[2] and dean of the faculty.[3] Besides this assignment, Greenwood holds the Novak Druce for professional Service Firms[3] visiting professorship of the Said Business School at the University of Oxford.[2]
Development[edit]
After several sociological and philosophical studies, Greenwood acquired his Ph.D. 1976 at the University of Birmingham, Great Britan,[2][4] with an application of Aston Group results to local governments.[1] His interest in the topic had been inspired by meeting his later frequent co-author and leading Aston-researcher Bob Hinings in 1972.[1] Up to 1980, Greenwood's activities were mostly restricted to Great Britain, until in 1980, he accepted a visiting professorship at the University of Alberta which was followed by a full professorship in 1982.[1]
Up to 2013, his academic track-record leaves 75 articles in notable journals and papers and 32 books.[1]
Research Interests[edit]
Greenwoods research-interests deal with the dynamics of change processes in organizations, with a special interest in the management of commercial service-organizations and entrepreneurs.[2]
Honors[edit]
2009 was Fellow der Academy of Management berufen.[4] 2013 wurde Greenwood zum Ehrenmitglied der European Group for Organizational Studies ernannt.[1]
