Stig Steen is a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and one of the world’s leading authorities in heart and lung transplantation and resuscitation. He has more than 40 years of practical experience in the medical field. One of his key interests is nutrition and its impact on our health. Together with his research team at Igelösa Life Science Community in southern Sweden, which has leading research facilities and laboratories for nutrition and food development, he has gathered unique knowledge of the human body and what it requires in order to function optimally in health and during disease. Igelösa Life Science Community Stig Steen is the founder of Igelösa Life Science Community - a company with strong ties to Lund University and that conducts nutrition- and lifestyle research. It employs chefs, food science technicians, nurses, doctors and nutritionists, has an approved and registered clinic and laboratory, a research kitchen and guest rooms for in-house patients on its premises. Igelösa Nutrition Science is a branch that conducts research and development of healthy nutritional products based on the research of the Life Science Community. All research is led by Stig Steen and focuses on developing effective programs and products for the prevention and treatment of lifestyle diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. The Wellness by Oriflame Natural Balance Shake has been developed in collaboration with Igelösa Life Science Community. Oriflame has for years supported and financed the nutritional research and development done at Igelösa.
