Having studied English as language of higher education in India since more than one hundred and fifty years, gradually it become the sophesticated mode of aesthetic expression.[1]. This is just an example of the legacy of the Empire, whose sun, at the beginning of 19th century"never used to set".[2] . = '

It was only through the medium of their education that few("slave") nations could achieved their independence. Consequently this decline of Empire was reflected upon the literature produced by it as "When we recall the scopeand variety of English fiction in the earlier years of this century in the hands of such writers of genius.... it is difficult not to feel that there has been a decline."[3]
At the same time on the other part of the glob with the rise of democracy there was the rise of creative expressions in India. As one of the prominent segment of it Indian Writing in English reached at its height in the second half of the 19th century(in the world of aesthetic expression which is known as Postmodern Era.) Authors like Anita Desai, Arun Joshi, Salman Rushdie, Amitav Ghose, Arundhati Roy and more recently Arvind Adiga with their award winnig writting established the glaring example for novels in Indian Writing in English.
