Abhinay Muthoo Abhinay Muthoo, born October 30 1963 in India, is a British economist and the Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick. Currently he is the Head of the Department of Economics.

Muthoo studied economics at the London School of Economics, where he obtained his B.Sc. in 1984, and at the King's College, Cambridge, where he completed his Ph.D. in economics in 1988. He then became a lecturer at London School of Economics, University of Bristol, and the University of Essex, where he was promoted to Professor of Economics in 1998. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University, London School of Economics, and University of Paris.

Prof. Muthoo has published research papers on a variety of topics in top economics journals, such as the Journal of Economic Theory, Economic Journal, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and Review of Economic Studies. His book, Bargaining Theory with Applications, published by the Cambridge University Press, is well-perceived and quickly becomes a standard reference in bargaining theory.

Muthoo was ranked 707th worldwide based on the overall ranking (the average rank on 11 publication rankings) over the period 1990-2000,[1] and served in the editorial board of Review of Economic Studies between 2001 and 2009.
