User:Gungadin and EastEnders[edit]

Hi. Last month you contributed to User talk:Gungadin about image copyright issues. I've had to tag a lot of her images today as nsd. Would you mind keeping an eye on the issue with me so I don't break any rules myself? Cheers. The JPS 12:20, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Re:[edit]

You've just removed an image from Maarja Kivi citing the fair use image policy. I've re-added it. The image page now says who created it, but to be honest, it's pretty obvious. Could you in future not remove images like that from articles? You haven't even challenged the source. Esteffect 17:38, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Books from WikiProject Novels[edit]

Nice to see someone make a bit more of an input to our parent project. I trust we can foster good a cordial relations between such related projects. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 15:46, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your kind response, sorry to be so long replying - you caought me unprepared for the "Admin" thing. So I thought I should at least consider it. Short answer I think I will decline. I am member of three WikiProjects currently, very active in WikiProject Novels and less so in WikiProject Sports Olympics and WikiProject Archaeology. So I think at least for the moment this would be a distraction. Maybe later. Also not sure I want the hastle. And that is quite outside your link contents.

By the way what prompted you to include the link and suggest the "Admin" thing. Just curious! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 18:37, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

User:Shakirfan[edit]

Hello again. Looking at the history to his talk page, I see you have warned User:Shakirfan numerous times about images with dodgy sources. I've marked quite a few today as copyright violations, but he still seems to be uploading them. I've left a note asking him to abide by the rules. If he continues, how is best to proceed? Report him somewhere to get him a short block? The JPS 14:53, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Since Wikipedia:Vandalism says: Repeatedly uploading images with no source and/or license information after notification that such information is required may also constitute vandalism (the wording is kind of vague; bolding by me) I would report the user to WP:ANI (for reporting and discussing incidents that require the intervention of administrators). Unfortunately the issue is complex, since there is no obvious place to report warned nsd and nld image uploaders. feydey 15:41, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks' for the reply, btw (sorry didn't say 'thanks' sooner -- I got caught up with a heavy vandal). The JPS 19:00, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Syracuse, New York[edit]

Just to let you know why i reverted your edit to the Syracuse page, movie posters are considered to fall under fair use when used in the english wikipedia. -- Gizzakk 12:23, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the Vanilla Sky poster on Syracuse, New York - I'm afraid that fair use is conditional. The tag says posters qualify as fair use "to illustrate the movie in question or to provide critical analysis of the poster content or artwork... Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement." The Syracuse article clearly does not do this. Technically, the poster shouldn't be on the Tom Cruise page either. The JPS 12:35, 20 April 2006 (UTC) [also left on Gizzak's talk page]
JPS is correct, fair use images are to be used on only specific articles i.e. posters, dvd covers only on the movie articles and the Syracuse article does not fall under that fair use. feydey 17:51, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Dennis Rader KSN Image[edit]

The image is from a news station in Wichita, KS. The resolution is not that good. The station is probaly copyrighted. He had a job (obviously). Since it comes from a copyrighted station, has the right license, and is in low resolution, the image is fair use and needs to go back up on the page. CubsFan2006 05:42, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Image:Clement X.JPG[edit]

As I am not 100% familiar with the procedures and policies in the English Wikipedia, I thought you may be able to help me. The image Image:Clement X.JPG is tagged as {{Stamp}}. However, it was used in the article about pope Clement X. I removed the image from the article, which leaves the actual image unused at the moment. What is the policy regarding un-used fair-use images (I note Jimbo's email about a year ago stating that non-free images should no longer be uploaded)? Should they be tagged with a specific template? Is there a procedure for reporting/deleting these? Thanks ever so much for your help in advance! --Lendu 11:21, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Re:time for a new RfA?[edit]

Thanks for your note on my talk page. However, I have come to the conclusion that I'm not good adminship material - I've lost a bit of interest in wiki lately, and I'm more happy to contribute to the encyclopedia than to do the janitorial work on it. Thanks for noticing, however. Sam Vimes 21:52, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Images on Roman millitary tactics[edit]

Hello,

You removed a lot of my images because the licence was insufficient. I have send an E mail to the company that made the computer game in question. I know they have allowed tv series to use the game to immitate ancient battles so I think there is a good chance wikipedia will be allowed to use them as well.(I don't think that will be a problem right? If I get permission?)

I want to ask you not to delete the images or tagg them untill I have received a responds. Sander 13:20, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

A landslide victory for The JPS (aka RFA thanks)[edit]

Hey, Feydey/Talk archive 3, thank you so much for your vote and comments in my RfA, which passed with an overwhelming consensus of 95/2/2. I was very surprised and flattered that the community has entrusted me with these lovely new toys. I ripped open the box and started playing with them as soon as I got them, and I've already had the pleasure of deleting random nonsense/attacks/copyvios tonight.
If I ever do anything wrong, or can help in some way, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will do my best to correct my mistake, or whatever...
Now, to that bottle of wine waiting for me...

The licence Rome Total war[edit]

I received a reply from the games maker!

Hi there we are happy to for you to use these screen shots under the following conditions. You need to change the copyright notice to Creative Assembly and SEGA. Also you'll need a disclaimer along the lines of

Images used by kind permission of the Creative Assembly. The Creative Assembly and SEGA do not endorse this page and can not be held responsible for the content held within it.

From: Sandertje [removed@planet.nl] Sent: 01 May 2006 14:34 To: Richie Skinner Subject: Rome Total war copyrights

Hello, I am a contributer on the online and non commercial encyclopedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/. I am currently woring on an article dealing with the Roman military and I have used a number of screenshots made inside the Rome:Total War game.However... a problem arose ... The licence on wikipedia only allows me to use them for identification and critical commentary on the computer or video game in question or the copyrighted character(s) depicted on the screenshot in question.

Could you please allow me to use the screenshots for that particular article, if you like I could (visibly)mention that the screenshots are from Rome total war even more as is the case now.

Sander,

ps:To view the article untill the problem with the picture started please click on the following link. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Roman_military_tactics&oldid=51038 707

Here's the email from Plavka[edit]

I asked for approval of what I did on the wikipedia site about her - I guess she doesn't explicitly state the photo but it's quite clear that was infered - if there's a problem I could ask her to state it or email you directly

User:Lalalulu[edit]

Hi, just thought you might like to know that the image that you warned this user about, the one of Christina Santiago, was deleted late last week because the image is not free. It is still copyrighted by Playboy. Read his talk page and mine and you'll see that we've gone around and around on this issue before. Dismas|(talk) 00:31, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, it's the same image. Dismas|(talk) 00:55, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

Thank you for your concern, however the original warning messages were placed in bad faith over a content dispute, in which the other user decided that instead of discussing the issue it would be much easier to simply label their opponent a vandal. 81.104.165.184 10:07, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

D'oh!![edit]

The IP comment on my userpage was slightly improperly moved to my talk as the IP wasn't mentioned. Therefore I was led to believe you made the comment (ok, I know that's not true) - so I commented here and kept editing the comment.

Sorry! Please be more careful and I'll do the same. — nathanrdotcom (Got something to say? Say it.) 16:35, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Re[edit]

I dont understand, the screen captures were all taken from programmes that were featured in the articles. I was told by another administrator that screen caps were ok to use in this way. The one you just removed from the eastenders artcile is entirely about the character in the screen capture, taken from that television program and about that television program. If that's not commentry about the programme's contents then i dont know what is. Gungadin 14:13, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Image 6th Generation.gif[edit]

I made this image myself and have applied the proper self license to it. It matches all the other "Generational" illustrations, and I grant free use to Wikipedia and anyone else who wishes to use them. (See 1stGeneration.gif - 6th Generation.gif) Thank you for your time. GameJunkieJim 14:14, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I do not own a copyright to the original image, however I do have implied permission to use said image in original work. I do not have this in writing, as it is verbal and implied, however, I can obtain this. It's use in the specific artwork is however, my own, and not a copyrighted use of the artwork. It will likely be a few weeks before I can obtain an email for the use, as this happens to be the week of E3, and Bungie Studios has just announced Halo 3. I can cite multiple examples of the use of said images, by myself and others, on the Bungie.net and Bungie.org websites, sanctioned by Bungie, if that will be sufficient. This is a Wallpaper Section on Halo.bungie.org, An art section from the same site, a Halo 3 Art Thread (And yes, that's me). As for specific wording, the most I could find was this Microsoft does not claim ownership of the materials you provide to Microsoft (including feedback and suggestions) or post, upload, input or submit to any Bungie Web Site or its associated services (collectively "Submissions"), to the extent what you post does not include materials provided to you or otherwise owned by Microsoft or its licensees. However, by posting, uploading, inputting, providing or submitting your Submission you are granting Microsoft, its affiliated companies and necessary sublicensees permission to use your Submission in connection with the operation of their Internet businesses including, without limitation, the rights to: copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, translate and reformat your Submission; and to publish your name in connection with your Submission. and that is in the Terms of Use found on Bungie.net. GameJunkieJim

Just as an illustration of the Generation. There isn't musch of a need other than aesthetic. My wish was simply to spruce up the articles for game history a bit, and I figured I could do that best with pop-iconography relevant to the Generations (I.E. 1st generation is plain, black and white, and alludes to Pong and single-dot games, 3rd Generation uses Mario and Arkanoid Bricks, 6th uses a Kinetica bike and the Master Chief, I was planning on doing maybe a Killzone character and a PGR3 car for 7thGeneration.gif, but I have not started this yet.GameJunkieJim (Forgot to sign earlier)

I do understand your reasons. I know nothing's personal, just a CYA situation, and I agree with you. I have added other things to these articles but no other images as of yet. I'm currently looking for qualifiers, as I know there is precedent for using popular culture iconography in original art, and am trying to figure out how to edit these images pages to address that. I'll abide by your deletion if it proves necessary, I just hope it doesn't, as I want to bring more attention to those pages. GameJunkieJim 15:51, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

thankyou, From what you say I can see where the discrepancy lies with some of the screen shots i uploaded, but not for the image i uploaded on this page - Terry Rich. Ebooks move (renaming)[edit]

Saw this on Pegships's talk:

Please take a look, it's about books

Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/Log/2006_May_1#Category:Books available as ebooks to Category:Ebooks has concluded with a strange result IMHO (no consensus). Or? feydey 21:48, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

  • If it helps, my vote can be changed to support the renaming. I originated the category name, and filed the strong oppose; Didn't change it after we debated the shortened name pending further voting, so should have annoted that I can live with 'eBooks' as only term in name. I stopped adding titles pending same resolution. FrankB 08:00, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the message.

As you noticed I am trying to create an entry for Dow Crag which is near my home town of Coniston:

"Saga" Links[edit]

Hi Feyday, The word "saga" was being used generically, did not seem to refer to a specific saga and did not point to a pertinent article. If you would like to link to one of the existing articles, please do so. You will find a link on the "Saga" dab page, which I won't link to, since it causes such a hassle. For more infomation on disambiguation please see Disambiguation link repair - You can help!. Thanks. --Iggle 08:27, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

"Saga"[edit]

I see that you have reverted my fixes, but you have not understood the purpose of the disambiguation work. Please see Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links--You can help! for more information. If you require those words to link to something, please create something appropriate for them to link to. As the dab info clearly explains, linking to dab pages is discouraged. If you think that is the only page you can link to, please consider re-writing it as a non-dab page. Thank you for your consideration. Iggle 08:47, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

my pictures[edit]

Dear Sir,

I am new here on Wikipedia and I don't know if I have violated anything by uploading some pictures in certain articles such as that of Scarlett Johansson and I have some other book covers as well in my folder that haven't been inserted in any article yet. I saw your name under the red triangle and I would like to ask you what you suggest doing with these disputed files. I hoped that I didn't commit any copyright infringement by uploading these bookcovers because I read that these qualified as fair use. I know that I should be more aware of it, but I am not quite familiar with the terms low and high resolution. As an experienced user, would you tell me how I could set the right resolution or remove everything? And would you be so kind as to contact me regarding this at erikagodor@yahoo.com (provided that you have some time for me)? Thank you in advance and I am sorry for the inconvinience I caused unintentionally.

Kind regards,

Recycling userbox - reply to vandalism accusation[edit]

Oh for heavens' sake! This is Political Correctness gone mad! "This user is interested in recycling issues" makes you sound like you couldn't give a damn either way and would rather keep everyone happy all of the time (an impossible feat, by the way) by filling the world with this rubbish. If we are to save this planet from self-annihilation, we need not only to cut greenhouse gas emissions, we need to recycle! Of all the waste from my house, about 85% is recycled. So, yes, anyone who doesn't bother recycling waste is a negligent idiot.--RichardHarrold 15:21, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Uploading images[edit]

Dear Feydey,

Thank you so much for your help, now I am getting more familiar with all the things here on Wikipedia and I eventually figured out how I could decrease the resolution of my scannings. I managed to reduce the size of the Vogue cover with Scarlett Johansson to 189 KBs, I hope that it will work this time. Again, I am sorry about the inconvenience I caused, I will be more careful next time. Can I remove these high-resolution images on my own or they will be deleted automatically? Thanks you again for your helpfulness. Best wishes, ErikaG 15:54, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Can you please stop adding the tag saying there is no source information on my picture pages, if you look you will see the source information is on there which is wwe.com which is added. Lil crazy thing 16:45, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

now that always hasn't been the way seeing as this is the first time anyone has done that to any of my uploads, if your pointing that out on my pictures i suggest you go round every single wwe wrestler page and do the same to there pictures instead of just to mine as most of them are the same. Why add the exact link its clear as day its from the website and ally ou got to do is click on wwe.com and click on the person and you will see

—Preceding unsigned comment added by Lil crazy thing (talkcontribs)

well seeing as you like to point out just my images with that i suggest you go around every single wwe wrestlers page and do the exact same to them as its unfair to have one rule for me and another rule for someone else, if you want me to have the exact damn link please go around telling everyone else as i will not be singled out when there are hundreds of other pictures the same as mine that have been there for months and nothing has ever been said. i find that very unfair Lil crazy thing 17:02, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Calm down!! Don't take it personally. Always assume good faith. The JPS talk to me 17:07, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

your asking for me not to take it personally when your only pointing out my pictures, so i will take it personally, as ive said go to all the other wwe wrestlers pages and you will see yourself they are all like my pictures and nothing has ever been said because everyone knows its from wwe.com and its all sourced wwe.com. I've got pictures uploaded since last year that are the same as what ive been uploading and they have never been labled unsourced. Lil crazy thing 17:11, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

i know the source information and its wwe.com if you dont believe me go look yourself and until you go around and put that tag on the hundreds of other pictures like i have said several times before that are exactly the same as mine i will remove it as your the only person to find fault with it. Lil crazy thing 18:03, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

I believe The JPS talk to me is agreeing with me. The point is that all images uploaded must have a source (the upload page says: "If the file is available online, include a link.") and just putting microsoft.com, google.com or wwe.com is not enough. Since You have copied the images from wwe.com it should be easy to give a source. Please do so. feydey 18:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

JPS hasn't agreed with you or me, check his discussion page and you'll see, and seeing as i've told you that until you can go around and tag every single image that is exactly the same as mine i will remove it as i will not accept being singled out which you are doing when hundreds of other pictures are exactly the same and nothing has ever been done about them and they have been there months thats is considered unfair. Lil crazy thing 18:14, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

I don't have to "go around and tag every single image" just to prove something. Please see Image:Mickiechamp.jpg and its history, after giving a notice the source was found in 5 hours. So please do not say that i'm only asking You to give a source, something that is asked for in the WWE license and Uploading rules. Bye, feydey 18:43, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
I wonder if WWE photos have been discussed before somewhere? As far as I'm concerned, and I think you'll agree, that the clear copyright warning on the front page and that the images do not come from a press kit means that use of these images is probably unfair. Plus, they could easily be reproduced to make unapproved merchandise like collecting cards and keyrings, therefore limiting the copyright holder's ability to make money from them. It's probably best to get a wider consensus first rather than us keep reverting. We'll need some hard precedent or solid discussion to point to if we're going to challenge all of the images that LCT says are out there. The JPS talk to me 20:46, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
The problem is that if we (Wikipedia) say: "ok, it is ok to upload images with wwe.com license and without source" --> any uploaded picture can be claimed as such (no source; WWE tag) and we have no ways to prove them wrong (unless we search every image separately in the internets (and that takes time)). I don't know who created the WWE template and why all images from that page are in fair use, since as You mentioned: "use of these images is probably unfair". And I agree with the last part of Your message. Possibly take it up in Wikipedia:Fair use talk page since it seems to be the only one with some activity. Best, feydey 20:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the Assistance[edit]

Thanks for the assistance. I'll surely reduce them. But I do not know how to delete the original images. I have remaned the mid resolution images to .JPG (in caps as opposed to the two .jpg files) Can you help me find a suitable mid resolution image for Tintin and Alph-Art--54UV1K 18:07, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

I have changed the resolution to n X 500 pixels. (Most of the Tintin series covers have that resolution) -54UV1K 18:18, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Image:MelandKim-beachpic-smaller.jpg[edit]

Is it an image from a magazine or a music video screenshot? feydey 15:31, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

It's a screensnap that was printed in a magazine so I wasn't sure which one to list it as. Sorry. It's under the 'fair-use' description though. Ellectrika
If your using the musicpromo tag we need the name of the video that it came from. That's crucial, because it is the source. The JPStalk to me 22:05, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Feyday. Need Some Help[edit]

I was searchingg through but I could not find out a place (main/discussion) where I could just post an announcement seeking collaborators for organising/cleaning/improving the Tintin pages (all rel.). What should I do? It's a mammoth task. --54UV1K 11:09, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the help. I'll do so. --54UV1K 11:28, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Image:Bb Derek-Laud.jpg[edit]

Hey. I need a bit of help with Image:Bb Derek-Laud.jpg. I've been trying to knock this on the head for ages, but someone is being very persistant. I think it's important it should go as a precedent. It's one of those cases of I think it's fair, therefore it's fair. The JPStalk to me 11:22, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Courtesy notices on ebook/eBook/e-book[edit]

Hi! I've asked for a formal vote on this vice your suggestion of waiting three weeks. (I've been waiting longer since the Cfd, and by the time we have a second round runoff between 'e-book' and 'ebook', it'll be that long no matter what, or close to it!).

Note also that I've primed the WP:VP, posted the community BB, and added a note on WP:NC (books)... (See all the links from that one) all stimulated a bit by Her Pegship. (I may never be a leader of men, but I'll always be a follower of women!!! <g>)

Anyway, I hope that will satisfy you, as I could be adding to category:books available as ebooks if the naming versions were settled.

By having this 'elimination' vote, I suspect we'll mostly all be able to rally behind 'ebook' as a 'best' compromise. Note, I also added the google survey I did a few weeks back back in the data above my May 13th post. I doubt it will change anyone's mind, but with all the new invitees, it seemed the best way to respect their time.

I just want any resolution ASAP that isn't going to change next week! One of the people over at Naming Conventions moved the article to eBook, which was rolled back once already. In sum, this kind of triviality is costing man-hours. Best wishes, //FrankB 04:15, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Image:Park Ji Sung.jpg[edit]

Hi feydey, This Park Ji Sung image is taken from the newspapers. But why did you put it as an unsourced image. It should be {{GFDL-self}}.

Thanks[edit]

- I went through the entire edit history of this AFD and noticed that you tagged quite a lot of unsigned comments. Thank you! --HappyCamper 21:56, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Photo Deletion[edit]

Thank you very much for your help on my photos I will do this for any other photos I upload. I'm quite new to wikipedia so I appreciate some friendly advice. I hope it wouldn't be out of line by asking this but could you help me with another article? I am writing an article on a up and coming but notable artist called Jerry C. There is currently a debate as to whether or not the article should be deleted and I feel it meets the criteria but I need time to improve it. Being a newcomer and not having any support from any other users I would be very grateful. Here is the URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_C Thanks, Thunder Cat 16:48, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Cuspian Portrait image[edit]

Thanks for the note! I'll look at both of them and delete the lower quality one.

Is there an efficient way to locate these images? I saw several with the same naming convention with some of the Cranach images already online when I began to scan some. I tried to locate them and others using various search strategies and galleries, but with little success. Any tips you could give me would be very welcome. --CTSWyneken 15:05, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! While I was vaguely aware of the Commons, it never occured to me to look there. As I examine the copies there, the colors are a little dull, but the major difference is the archival quality scans I do. I'm working at 300 dpi with photoshop. So I guess I'll move it there and save the disk space at English Wikipedia. --CTSWyneken 15:19, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

OK. I've got it over at Commons. I'm puzzled as to how to set up an interwiki link to it: (Image:LucasCranachtheElderCuspinian.jpg in Commons) Can you show me how? Thanks! BOb --CTSWyneken 13:13, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

My, that's cool! I appreciate the tip! Bob --CTSWyneken 20:17, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

image copyright issues[edit]

Feydey, I understand the concept of copyright tagging, I'm just confused why you have nominated the picture Image:Amador copy.jpg for speedy deletion. It has been marked as a television screenshot and tagged as such. While I took the screenshot with my computer, I do not own it, Fox broadcasting does, so I cannot say I own the image and release it under GDFL. This is a new version of the file because the old one was dark and difficult to see, and uploaded by a different user. I took the speedy deletion tag off and tried to specify fuller as to the nature of the photograph, but I am just confused as to why any part of it was a problem. There are many television screenshots of a similar nature with similar sourcing and tagging. I apologize for coming to you with this, but I am familiar with the pages you directed me to and they did not answer my questions. Thank you for your time. - Xtreme680 06:00, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

The image was not tagged for speedy deletion. It was correctly tagged as having no source (which it didn't at the time the tag was added) It still needs a more detailed fair use rationale, though. The JPStalk to me 12:03, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks Feydey, I usually add source information, but was trying to upload an improved image and forgot about it. Keep doing the fine work you're doing. - Xtreme680 16:49, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Image[edit]

Feydey, I'm new to wikipedia and have no idea how to claim the image as mine. I took the picture personally and wish for it to remain on the site as it is a prime example of a convicted drug dealer (which is left out of the page). Sorry for any trouble.

Maps of DC[edit]

Regarding these, which you have warned me will be deleted if I don't identify the source of the "government document"...how do I tag things that were created by the government of the District of Columbia?

Thanks. --Msclguru 18:06, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Fair use images: ImagePetersonnyy.jpg[edit]

HI: Here is a copy of the exchange between me and Angr on May 20...I hope it is helpful in clearing this matter up:

Image:Iekessinger.jpg The image in question is a digital photo I took of an actual photograph, and then cropped. The photograph of Don Kessinger is a Chicago Cubs team-issued press photo which was taken in the early 1970s and freely distributed to various media outlets for publication (publicity). This is one of many from my personal collection, which I have acquired over the years. My uploading of this image for Wikipedia's benefit is in no way profit-oriented. I thought I had tagged it correctly. Should I retain the tag and/or license I used, but also name the source (Chicago Cubs)...or should I use the "fair use" option? Please let me know what to do. Thanks. BurmaShaver 22:53, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

The problem isn't the license, it's that there's no source information. Just give the information you gave above about where you got the photo from, and you can remove the "no source" tags. Angr (t • c) 00:12, 20 May 2006 (UTC) [edit] Image:Iekessinger.jpg Thanks for the info. I followed your directions as best I could, and re-named the image Iekessingerd.jpg so that I could re-upload it. Please let me know if it is now acceptable. If it is, I will fix other similar images. BurmaShaver 01:20, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes, Image:Iekessingerd.jpg is fine now. You didn't have to re-upload it, though; you could have just updated the info on the original image. Anyway, now that the second upload is correct, I'll go ahead and delete the first one since we don't need two copies of the same picture. Sergio Gori and others[edit]

Simply in these images the subject is the name of the image. Let me know if some are not clear. Bye. User:Attilios

I specified the source from which the image is taken. Anyway, it is useless to know from where the image is taken, as the photo from Italy older than 20 years ARE Public Domain everywhere. Please avoid to delete them, therefore. Let me know. User:Attilios
Sergio Gori played last time for Italy national football team in 1973. Don't you think it's reasonable that an image showing him with that team's jersey can have more than 20 years? User:Attilios
Please stop to tag unsourced the Giorgio Gori image. It is clearly specified that copyright as expired by terms of law, whatever is the source. ITALIAN IMAGES WITH MORE THAN 20 YEARS ARE PUBLIC DOMAIN. What the need to know the source if the image has 20 years more? If you continue in your war I will call for an administrator. User:Attilios
OK, it seemed you referred to the Internet source, and it seems I incurred in some copy-paste trouble in the process. If you see other problems with similar images I downloaded from that site, you can find them simply browsing the "Prossima pagina" or changing the "/testineXX.htm" in the address. The pictures are in alphabetical order. See you soon. User:Attilios
Thanks for help and advice, but Italian keyboards have no simple key for the "~" character. Attilios 17:22, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Diocese Ferrol-Mondonedo. jpg[edit]

Hi Feyday,

I understand that you want to delete my composition. You are claiming this thing of the problems with the copyright, but in reality I think that the problem you have with the picture is that you just don’t like it. I created that composition, its quality might be supreme, but expresses very well from where to where that “Diocese” extends itself. How about this, instead of deleting it; why don’t you try to substitutes it with a better quality composition (expressing the same but “better”).

Yours truly,

Charles Wessex

P.S.: You can check this official web-site to see the extension of the “Diocese” if you want to. http://www.mondonedoferrol.org/

Ok, is it because I picked the map from here? Ok I guess you are right in the deleting the picture then. But never mind, one I’ll get a non copyrighted map I’ll create the same composition again. I think a good map expresses much easier the extension of the “Diocese”.
