I think this template is extremely problematic. We have a problem when our discussions of living persons upsets them, and the last thing we need in such a case is a template rubbing it in their face that someone thinks they are guilty of "self-promotion". I think experienced and unexperienced editors alike understand that most people engage to some extent in self-promotion (and why not) and that bias about one's own life is difficult to avoid.
