@OrdinaryScarlett: It's worth remembering that these icons are not for presenting the branding of a service, but to give users some additional information about the service. There is nothing preventing you from constructing (or asking some else to construct) a bespoke icon which will be clear at the sizes and resolutions required whilst retaining selected branding elements. I took that approach for Eurostar and Heathrow Express, whose respective logos () and File:HeathrowExpress.svg do not scale well: {{rint|eurostar|size=15}}: and {{rint|london|heathrowexpress|size=15}}: can both be seen at Template:Hammersmith & City line RDT.
