Tournaments that took only one day.[edit]
How do you deal with a sports tournament that took only one day? Leaving the end-date property open still leaves an ugly endash after the date on which the event took place. I'm asking this because the Capcom Cup proper only takes one day. See Capcom Cup 2015 for example: the infobox currently lists its date as "December 6–" ~Mable (chat) 18:52, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Bug in Single sport tournament runner-up[edit]

That line results in an incorrect result if runner-up1 is specified, but runner-up2 is not, writing as a result runner-up in lower case, instead of the appropriate Runner-up or 1st runner-up. The second if should specify if (runner-up1 && (runner-up2 || runners-up2)) then runner-up else Runner-up.
For pages displaying the problem, check 2016 League of Legends World Championship or 2015 League of Legends World Championship.
I'm not making the change because I can't seem to find a way to reach those rules edition page without going into the sandbox. And, also, beacuse I haven't checked the documentation about conditional expressions in those templates, so I don't trust myself to do it.

- I've realized that the template can be edited directly as a page, but for some reason, what I see in the Sandbox (pasted above) is different from what I see when editing the template itself:

Can we have option to call the winner something other than "champion"?[edit]
In the World Chess Championship, a series of preliminary tournaments are held, before a match is held to determine the champion. So it seems weird to me that the winners of these preliminary tournaments such as Chess World Cup 2017 or Candidates Tournament 2018 are each called the "Champion". It is like calling the winner of a semi-final the "Champion". Far more appropriate would simply be "winner". So, would it be possible to have an option to call the winner something other than "Champion", either here or at Template:Infobox sports competition event ? Adpete (talk) 11:07, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
