Could anyone review this, please? -- Zanimum (talk) 23:40, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What makes this period notable enough to stand on its own? Per WP:SS, we should avoid extraneous detail. Other than that, length and date are fine, AGF on the numerous offline sources. Hooks are fine lengthwise and interestwise, and are cited. Just indicate why this five year period in particular is important and we're golden. Crisco 1492 (talk) 06:23, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Caribana (now SCCT) is the largest Caribbean festival in North America, and the oldest. The first five years were the first era of the festival, growth from a Centennial event to a permanent organization and festival, and by the end, the event began to sour with deaths (albeit accidental the first time around) and violence that would soon plague it during the 1980s and 1990s. The further history will more likely be in decade or 15 year chunks, as the event started to streamline itself into just parades and island partying, without the Nobel Prize winning playrights and the like. But basically the suddenly having cold water thrown at it, at the fifth year, seemed like the logical stop for this increment. -- Zanimum (talk) 14:59, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
A good argument. Hopefully the rest of the history gets written, otherwise this will probably have a merge tag put on it in a few months. Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:48, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
