Troy Collings

  • ... that Troy Collings co-founded a company that specialises in tours of North Korea?

  • Hook is inline cited to BBC News which is RS. Article is new enough (created March 7), long enough, and NPOV. Hook is interesting and QPQ done. I'll note that the article seems right on the edge of WP:N as the subject seems to have only been mentioned in reference to his death based on in-article references, however, outside the article there are enough references of substance that it certainly surmounts the WP:ONEEVENT threshold. • Haha, here's me reviewing an article without first opening the nomination form (became aware of it via Article alerts) and got beaten to it. Basically, I've come to the same conclusions; all is good but notability looks on the shaky side. I reckon it's just ok as the death notice got picked up by so many international mastheads. Given that he's from Auckland, I thought that the local newspaper would provide some biographical details, but no, they just repeated the generic obituary. So yes, this is ok to go but I wouldn't be surprised if we have to first go through an AfD to have this tested. Note that there might be a photo forthcoming; I've asked some Twitterati who was once on a tour whether he could upload something to Commons. Looking promising. Schwede66 20:00, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
  • That worked; photo has been added. Schwede66 14:19, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
  • I also think the notability looks suspect, but I'm not going to waste my time bringing it to AFD because everyone is going to say, "But there are so many reliable sources!" But I think the hook could be improved. Like:
  • ALT1: ... that while living in China, New Zealand tour guide Troy Collings co-founded a company specialising in tours of North Korea? Yoninah (talk) 22:23, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
  • I agree that ALT1 is more interesting, however, it did not explicitly state that in the article. I have rearranged one sentence so that it is explicit that he lived in China when he founded the company. I have also checked the references and it was a different reference to the ones that were there that confirms the part of the hook that's new. Schwede66 23:01, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
