The Student (short story)[edit]

"The Student", translated by Constance Garnett
  • ... that "The Student" (narrated), one of Anton Chekhov's shortest stories, was also his favorite? Source: Shortest: "Stories that appeared in The Russian News were often short, as Chekhov's New Times stories had been; indeed, some, such as "The Student" ("Student," 1894), are among Chekhov's shortest" (ref 3) Favorite: "In later life Chekhov told Ivan Bunin that "The Student" was his favorite among all his stories" (ref 1)

  • QPQ done, all non-lead and non-plot ¶ with citations, a copyvio check reveals no problems, hook content is verified with citations to reliable sources in the article. Offline hook reference accepted in good faith. Sorry, but this nomination appears to be ineligible per the WP:DYKRULES. The article is not new, (it was created on 12 September 2016 and upon comparing revisions, it has not been expanded 5x within seven days of the time it was nominated for DYK.
