The Incredible Hulk (1994 video game)

  • ... that the robotic enemies in the video game The Incredible Hulk were influenced by Marvel Comics's objection to the Hulk killing humanoid characters? Source: "Bashing the living daylights out of things in a variety of ingenious ways is the name of the game, but it's robotic creatures or inanimate objects only, we're afraid (apparently Marvel Comics got a bit touchy about the thought of humanoids being squelched)." Hickman, Lucy (December 1993). "Work in Progress: The Incredible Hulk". Mean Machines Sega. EMAP. pp. 24–25.

Overall: Was passed as a GA on the 13th of September and the use of old magazines is pretty nifty. Hook is interesting, though isn't the quote more an inference by the game reviewer than the stated objection of the company? Dracophyllum 09:54, 14 September 2021 (UTC)

There's some development information on the page next to the quoted one that again verifies Marvel's objection to humanoid enemies affecting the scenario: ("Having considered the comic character in great detail, they both thought that a game featuring the Hulk trashing tanks, doing mile-long jumps and generally indulging in all-out warfare with all and sundry would probably be best [...] However, it seems Marvel object to the trashing of humanoids so this idea had to be shelved.")
