New and long enough, the article has at least 1 inline citation per para. No POV or plagiarism detected. QPQ provided. The hook fact is interesting and cited to a Google Books page from the Encyclopedia of Geography published by Sage publishers. All the sources are reliable enough. Yes, this is a start-class article, but aside from the two quotes, it does not give a good indication as to why she is notable. Footnote 1 mentions the number of books and papers she's written, which should be included, but something should be said about her 45+ years in the field. - Hi Yoninah. Notability guidelines for academics are listed at WP:NACADEMIC. The article documents that Hanson has won multiple national awards (criterion 2), that she's an elected member of highly selective and prestigious scholarly societies (not to mention the first female geographer to be so) (criterion 3), that she holds a distinguished professor appointment (criterion 5), that she's been the president of a major academic society (criterion 6), and that she's been the editor of several major journals (criterion 8).
