  • - Length, Date, Cite, QPQ, and Earwigs check. The image is nice but at the size it would need to appear on the Main Page I don't think it is usable. Approved as a non-image hook. Mifter (talk) 19:35, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
  • The King Sejong article doesn't have enough original content to qualify. Nikkimaria (talk) 12:46, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Nikkimaria, can you please give us the number of additional characters that the article needs? Many thanks. Piotrus, once we know that number, you'll have the choice of expanding the King Sejong article by that much, or leaving the article in the hook but unbolding the link. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:43, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
  • It will need approx. 600 characters of original readable prose. Nikkimaria (talk) 15:54, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Since the current prose number is 1766, the goal is at least 2366 prose characters, with the new additions all being original. Piotrus, does that sound doable? BlueMoonset (talk) 16:29, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
  • @BlueMoonset: I don't understand how the 600 was arrived at. If Nikkimaria feels it is a good use of our time to do such rule nitpicking, please do us a courtesy of providing a detailed analysis. Also, please note that while a few sentences were reused, I expect many of them has been added by me to other articles within the scope of time period covering this nomination. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:04, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Piotrus, the initial edit summary for King Sejong was partially based on Gwanghwamun Plaza, expanded. Expansions based on pre-existing material (at least seven days old) go by the 5x expansion rules for that material, not the 1500 minimum for regular new articles. (More recent pre-existing material isn't counted at all.) I did a quick look via Duplication Detector between Sejong and its predecessor, and there were three chunks right away, each over 100 characters and totaling over 400 characters; there were also shorter passages, but I didn't have the time to look into them. I also didn't check to see which were newly added to the source article and which had been around for a while and thus needed to be 5x expanded, but those three copied phrases alone put Sejong at a significant deficit. If Nikkimaria cares to take the time to give you the detail that you're requesting, she may, but long experience at DYK and good faith leads me to believe her numbers. There's no question that you have to do an expansion. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:44, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Thanks for reminding we why following the attribution rule for inner-copying (which few people do anyway) is a really bad idea for DYK submitters. Anyway, here you go: [1]. PS. I realize my tone here may be a bit combatative, so I want to note that I appreciate yours and Nikkimaria's efforts on many fronts. But the rules about 5x expansion/treatments of resusing content have always been, IMHO, how shall I put it diplomatically... a giant waste of time and an invitation to game the system. If my attitude towards those rules shines through here, please realize that my contempt is directed at those rules, not at you. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:03, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
