  • ... that American businessmen prevented the Canadian government from using a road in the province of Ontario to build the Point Abino Light Tower (pictured), forcing it to use the shore? The Lake Erie Shore: Ontario's Forgotten South Coast, page 149-150: "...and sold the entire property to a group of twenty-one wealthy Buffalo businessmen who formed the Point Abino Association" and "...the federal government signed an agreement with the Point Abino Association that the lighthouse would remain accessible by water only" and "...not along the private road, but along the more difficult west shore..."
