Pied cuckoo-dove

  • ... that pied cuckoo-doves scare other birds away from fruiting plants by clapping? Source: Pratt, Thane K. (1984). "Examples of Tropical Frugivores Defending Fruit-Bearing Plants". The Condor. 86 (2): 126–128. "The pigeon attacked all other species...It behaved agonistically by clapping its wings loudly while attempting to alight on the visitor"

  • Article appears to meet DYK requirements and a QPO has been done. No close paraphrasing was found. The hook is cited inline; it's offline so AGF, but I'm accepting the reliability of the quote provided; the provided alternate source here also confirms it. • Hi, Narutolovehinata5, I'd like to withdraw this nom. I just rechecked the source and it's referring to the great cuckoo-dove, not the pied cuckoo-dove (possibly the drunkest mistake I've ever made, I have no idea how), and so this hook is wrong. Sorry for the inconvenience. AryKun (talk) 12:37, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
