Pan Inuit Trails Atlas[edit]

Source: "the database is meant to show how the Inuit people remained connected from Greenland to Alaska" (The snowy, barren arctic actually contains a sophisticated network of Inuit trails)

Interesting database, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. How about saying "database" somewhere in the hooks? I was surprised ;) - How do you feel about an infobox? - I think the original hooks is stronger about what the atlas is, also think some readers will need the link to Inuit, therefore striking the other, but open for changes. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:08, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: Thanks for the review. The most appropriate infobox I could find was {{Infobox collection}}, which I've added but seems somewhat sparse. I've also added info about funding, source materials, and the database. Mindmatrix 14:54, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
Hi, I came by to promote this, but I don't see anything about a database in the hook. Also, the article is an orphan; please link it in at least one other Wikipedia article so it won't get an orphan tag. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 23:00, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
- I've linked it from a couple of articles, and will try to find others to add it to later. As far as modifying the hook, it's already 188 characters, and I haven't found a good way to add 'database' without either adding a parenthetical that makes it too lengthy, or making the sentence awkward. The best I've thought of so far is inserting "...is a database that..." between the hook link and "depicts"; see ALT2, which is 207 characters long. I'm open to suggestions. (Is it necessary though? All collective and documentary works such as atlases and encyclopedias are essentially databases. In this case, its an interactive map that shows information drawn from its database; note that users are not interacting with the database itself.) Mindmatrix 12:30, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
