My first DYK review, so please get a second opinion. No QPQ. The article has a single (bare URL) reference which is not allowed in DYK articles. The article is long and new enough, but needs a few more reliable sources to establish notability (the one charting single is enough to establish notability for that song, but not for the artist also). Further, I personally don't think a DYK article should have red wikilinks so would advise removal of those. Some of the language is not encyclopaedic, such as "who showed him the ropes" and this needs tightening. Song titles should be "quoted"; EP titles should be in italics. The release of the EP by Future Sounds needs its own reference. Finally....I don't think the hook is very interesting, it's a bit discography-esque. A better hook from that article, for me, would be:- ALT1:

- You have your notability guidelines mixed up: Any artist who has a hit record is notable per WP:MUSICBIO#C2; According to WP:NSONGS, "Notability aside, a standalone article is only appropriate when there is enough material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album". Red links are encouraged in articles per WP:RED. All issues between "Some of the language" and "its own reference" have been fixed, though that hook is not a good one (it doesn't tempt people into wanting to know who Neal Howard is - a fact about the subject of the linked article is usually better). - @Dennisthemonkeychild: good you noticed the talk page. Articles that are rated stub-class are not preferred for DYK per Rule D11, but since this is up to start-class, I updated the ratings. Many page creators don't input their own ratings, so it's okay for you to do it when you review the article. Right now the page also lacks categories, which should be noted on the review and filled in by the page creator before approval. Yoninah (talk) 14:10, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

New review: New enough, long enough, neutrally written. I appreciate your candor about the sources, Launchballer, but I would not call this reliably sourced. Aside from the blog, aren't there any other media reports about him? If you are able to beef up the sources, a QPQ is also needed. Yoninah (talk) 22:15, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- I'm afraid not. The media were contemptuous of acid house then and still are, and so preferred to write about illegal raves and overdoses. That, literally, is the biggest source on the web. You get occasional bios like this one but they are seriously few and far between. I'll have a look in my local library on the off chance they have anything there but I highly doubt it.--Launchballer 10:58, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
