    • Great work on the article! Tails Wx (talk · contribs), this will be ready once the "Reviewed" section is filled in. Cunard (talk) 10:10, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
@Cunard, Tails Wx, and Queen of Hearts: Not sure why the hook is interesting DYKCRIT. I imagine this has happened before. I also wonder if we can come up with a hook that does not focus on the negative in this BLP. Should also address a CLOP issue in Early life section Bruxton (talk) 21:13, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
Bruxton, I've taken care of the CLOP issue. How about ALT1 (courtesy pings to Cunard and Queen of Hearts as well for their thoughts):
  • ...that police officer Kevin Davis' father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all served in emergency management? Source: Pasadena Voice
~ Tails Wx (🐾, me!) 21:12, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
Tails Wx (talk · contribs), thank you for rewording the article and proposing the new hook. The source says: "A fourth-generation public safety officer, Davis was born with a badge in hand and police work in his blood. His great-grandfather and grandfather retired high-ranking Washington, D.C., firefighters, and Davis' father is a retired Prince George’s County police officer."

Is serving as firefighters (his great-grandfather and grandfather) and a police officer (his father) considered "emergency management"? Emergency management says, "a science and a system charged with creating the framework within which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters"? Or is a different meaning of emergency management being used here? Cunard (talk) 06:42, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

Hmm. I probably misinterpreted the use of "emergency management" here, so I think "public safety" would be a better use, since firefighters and police officers are part of public safety, no? (ping Cunard)

  • Verified for ALT3. Tails Wx (talk · contribs), thank you for the updated hook! I think "public safety" is an accurate description of their work as firefighters and police officers. Cunard (talk) 07:26, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
