GirlsDoPorn

  • ... that GirlsDoPorn was one of the top 20 most viewed channels on Pornhub before its co-owners and a male pornographic actor were charged with sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion? Source: sex trafficking charges "Pratt, Wolfe and Garcia were charged each with three counts of Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud and Coercion" top 20 channels "Its ranking on Pornhub hovers around the 20th most popular channel"

  • Comment: A very disturbing topic so please comment sensitively. Looking for an experienced reviewer to check the article is fully WP:BLP-compliant before this goes to the main page. There is precedent that the main page is uncensored and unfiltered.

5x expanded by Bilorv (talk). Self-nominated at 11:11, 25 March 2020 (UTC).

  • As requested, I've done a longer review of this one. First for the DYK criteria: it met DYK length and expansion requirements when nommed, and is well-sourced. Additionally, the sources are all RS's. None of the women involved with the site and controversy are named (Emily Willis is named in a different context). Details of the owners, particularly Garcia, Pratt and Wolfe (discussed the most throughout), are written neutrally. The hook is interesting, and fine per WP:NOTCENSORED; it's also more about crime, though obviously sex crime, than pornography. It's cited in the article. This seems good to go, satis for DYK and I have no BLP concerns. Kingsif (talk) 17:49, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks very much for the thorough review. — Bilorv (talk) 19:04, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Bilorv, does 'male pornographic actor' need to be changed to actors? —valereee (talk) 18:03, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
@Valereee: no, it refers to Ruben "Andre" Garcia only, who I believe was the only male pornographic actor who appeared in the videos from 2010 to 2020. Doug Wiederhold was only active for the company between 2007 and 2009. Do you think anything in the hook needs to be changed in regards to this? — Bilorv (talk) 18:22, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
Maybe insert 'a' before male, if it's just the one? It's not that it's an error, it just made me wonder if it was one or more because of the sentence construction. —valereee (talk) 18:35, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
@Valereee: makes sense, done. — Bilorv (talk) 20:56, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
