Ängelholm UFO memorial

  • ... that the Ängelholm UFO memorial reflects the account of Swedish entrepreneur Gösta Carlsson who attributed his success in life to encountering a UFO in 1946? Source: Harrison, Dick (28 April 2017). "UFO i Skåne?" [UFO in Skåne?]. Svenska Dagbladet (in Swedish). Archived from the original on 27 January 2023. Retrieved 27 January 2023.
[There is actually a UFO monument in Skåne, specifically outside Ängelholm. It commemorates an alleged (but not proven) landing of a non-terrestrial spacecraft ("flying saucer", depicted in what is said to be a 1:8 scale) on May 18, 1946. The event is said to have taken place in the Siberian Forest, a coastal area just outside the city planted with forest to retain the sand. The man who, according to his own statement, witnessed the arrival of the extraterrestrials was called Gösta Carlsson (1918–2003), better known as the Pollen King, and he was also the one who had the memorial erected at the supposed landing site in 1972. Carlsson was an enterprising entrepreneur in the health food industry who also became known for generous ice hockey sponsorship (Rögle BK). He himself believed that he had the meeting with the aliens to thank for his success.]"
