Notability[edit]

Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & notability is not inherited from notable father. A recent MilHist RfC, which aimed to modify SOLDIER to cover those with ace status, concluded w/o arriving at a consensus that flying aces should be presumed to be notable. Here's the RfC in question: RfC on notability of flying aces.

No de.wiki article exists. Successful completion of missions is not part of SOLDIER. Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists.K.e.coffman (talk) 02:27, 10 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The RfC didn't reach a consensus - and was about 5+ aces. This ace had more than 40 - half an aviation regiment (SOLDIER(4)), and has several book references.Icewhiz (talk) 21:46, 12 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect[edit]

Successful completion of missions (sorties flown, # of enemy aircraft shot down, etc) is not part of SOLDIER. A MilHist RfC on this topic has failed to gain consensus in May of 2017:

For a relevant AfD, please see:
