Name, nationality[edit]

I was able to find several reliable sources using the Polish version (Włodzimierz Rachmanow), including the biography and the Polish Philatelists Union ([1]), and news reports (Polish, English). The previous title, "Wladimir von Rachmanow", was much less common and did not generate any results that were as reliable, at least as far as I could see. Also, Google Print has two books of his indexed under this name: [2]. On another interesting note, the Polish sources do refer to him as "Russian", even through he seems to have been born and lived in Warsaw. Perhaps he was a polonized Russian, or a Pole of Russian origins (born in the Russian partition); for now I've amended the article to refer to him as Polish-Russian. He was certainly very active in the pre-WWII philately world in the Second Polish Republic. I wonder if there are any Russian sources about him? Perhaps there is a more popular, Russian version of his name? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 21:30, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
