Show Me, Tell Me[edit]

Some points raised in the separate article Show me, tell me might be merged into the appropriate section of this article. Kpjas (talk) 07:55, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Renamed to its official title "Vehicle Safety Questions" --Driverdude (talk) 17:55, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Shouldn't this be renamed to Great Britain driving test? The Northern Ireland test is administered by a different DVLA (there are two in the UK, GB and NI), and varies slightly. Canterbury Tail talk 12:46, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, as far as I know the Northern Ireland test history is different to the Great Britain driving test, I think a test in N.I. was not introduced until 1956. 2A00:23C8:2297:AF01:C5EE:2B1D:922A:3979 (talk) 09:54, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In addition I suggest that it is renamed to 'car driving test', as it contains information only pertinent to cars. Lorry and motorcycle tests are significantly different. Moozaad (talk) 17:02, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Theory test section[edit]

The section "Theory test" under "The current test" is pretty poor, it's not listed in the contents, the grammar is bad and the reference doesn't back up all of the claims made. Someone care to clean it up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.77.183.34 (talk) 10:54, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

16 if on DLA?[edit]

I've heard about being allowed to have a provisional licence at 16 if you're on the higher rate of DLA mobility component. Here, OTOH, it's stated that you can take your test at 16 if you're on any rate of DLA whatsoever. Something's clearly wrong, but I don't know what the correct information is. Can anyone enlighten/provide sources? -- Smjg (talk) 13:03, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This page on DSA states that you can take your theory test once you have a valid provisional licence, which I take as meaning that you can do it at 16 if you're on the aforesaid rate of DLA, otherwise 17. But it makes no similar statement about the practical test, unless I just haven't found it.
It would also be nice if we could find out why there's this special rule in the first place. Any ideas? -- Smjg (talk) 14:09, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Driving Test Report[edit]

I have added a scan of the Driving Test Report as issued in 2011. The box for the rear of the report has been removed. The image is placed under Crown Copyright. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ofahcuts (talkcontribs) 16:59, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DSA now DVSA[edit]

This article should reflect the change of the DSA to the DVSA in April 2014.[1] Madeinsane (talk) 21:49, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Northern Ireland[edit]

Would it be beneficial to add a new section to the page regarding the Northern Ireland driving test due to the multiple differences between it and the GB test? So any reference to the NI version of the test would be removed from the current section and rewritten in a new section on the same page.

If nobody rejects, I'll go ahead and add it in. B1t3j (talk) 23:15, 26 June 2022 (UTC+1)
