Well well, look who I caught today! Mr. Christopher himself. :) I will be reviewing the article according to the heightened GA criterias. At first a checklinks and dablinks checking. :) — Legolas (talk2me) 11:34, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Quick-checks
- Checklinks — There are a number of redirect links, I think the allmusic links are still there because you were working in your sandbox while the allmusicbot was correcting the links. There is a dead link also.
- Dablinks — No dablinks, goody goody.
- Alt image — I know that alternate text are no longer a valid item, but this article is too well constructed to miss it. This one is upto you christopher.
- Could you help me with this? I never did an alternate text before, I don't know how specific the description needs to be. Frcm1988 (talk) 20:39, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
More reviews coming up.... — Legolas (talk2me) 09:41, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Prose[edit]
- Lead
- Written by the group members with Paul Wilson and Andy Watkins—the songwriters and production duo known as Absolute—at the same time as the group was filming scenes for their movie Spice World, it was produced by Wilson and Watkins for the group's second album Spiceworld, released in November 1997. --> This looks really long and snaky. I try slicing the snake and go with a better flow. "The song was written by the group members with Paul Wilson and Andy Watkins—the songwriters and production duo known as Absolute—at the same time the group was filming scenes for their movie Spice World. "Stop" was produced by Wilson and Watkins for the Spice Girls' second studio album Spiceworld, which was released in November 1997."
- that features --> and features; that implies that Blue-eyed soul featured instrumentation from guitar and brass, which is untrue
- showed them interacting with young girls in various children's games --> It wasn't. They instead played the games with the kids. Rephrase.
- Surprisingly, the lead is not a summarisation of the article, because you do not mention the live performance.
- set to be released in November --> Not clear as to which the month implies to. The promotion or the album release?
- so the group had to do the all the song-writing and recording --> so the group had to do all the song-writing and recording
- with logistical difficulties --> When you mention logistical difficulties, you need to clear it up, since from Mel B's quote it is not clear as to what logistical problem they faced.
- I changed the comma for a semi-colon and removed the as from the line to remove the direct implication beetween the sentence and Mel B's quote. Frcm1988 (talk) 01:54, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Composition
- the song calls for a slowing down on the courtship process --> This needs elaboration. The song itlsef answers if I remember as to why the slowing down was necessary.
- I tried to search for another source to expand about the lyrics, but couldn't find any, I however add some info about the key demographic of the song. Frcm1988 (talk) 01:54, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- The second part of the composition is impressive as usual of Christopher's works.
- The first one, a standard CD single format that included --> remove that... you know why
- contained the track, the --> contained the track alongwith the
- Andy Gill of The Independent, called the album a "perky but charmless parade of pop pastiches" --> How is this being helpful in the review of the song?
- Mmmm I don't know, he uses "Stop" as an example of one of these "pop pastiches": Instead, it's a perky but charmless parade of pop pastiches, from the opening pseudo-salsa of "Spice Up Your Life" and the pseudo-Motown stomp of "Stop" through to the lifeless flamenco stylings of "Viva Forever". Frcm1988 (talk) 01:54, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- The link to silver for BPI seems wrong as it doesnot provide information on UK shipments. Change it to the correct one, List of music recording certifications and mention the shipment for clarity.
- Hot 100 Airplay link needs to be corrected. Hate these new Billboard names, don't you?
- and directed by James Brown --> and was directed by James Brown
- maybe wikilink some of the words in the first para?
- Only wikilinked "terraced houses", don't know what else could I wikilink, maybe Ireland? but that is's a very well known place, speacially for British people.
- wikilink the games --> traditional games always have different links to what we type.
- to an audience of --> in front of an audience of
- Live performance
- The group performed "Stop" as a foursome --> Who was missing?
- The VHS and DVD release of the concert, Girl Power! Live in Istanbul, does not include the "Stop" performance. --> Add a however infront of the sentence, since it is a contrast.
- in nearly a decade on the 2007 --> in nearly a decade at the 2007
- Formats and the rest of it
- Can you use the cite music release notes templates? This is too good an article to miss it.
- Ok I will add them, altough I have to say that Im not in favor of this, because it only add unnecessary catalogue numbers and years, but that is another battle. I will need some time to dig out my cds though, I have a couple now, will add the rest later. Frcm1988 (talk) 01:54, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- When you have separated the charts into two parts, why is the RPM chart suddenly with US? The separation is supposed to be done alphabetically.
- Reference 73 is a repetition I guess of the RPM source.
- For the EL, can you use the YouTube template?
