Filmography[edit]

That's what you call a list of films someone has appeared in. And if it doesn't match the IMDb entry for Shane McConkey (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1625604/), it won't stick. I count 5 movies in the IMDb and 18 (?) in this article. So unless someone contacts IMDb and gets them to update their database, the other 13 should be deleted.

Copyright infringement[edit]

The section called "Death" is a word-for-word copy of this http://www.porterstahoe.com/2009/03/we-will-miss-you-shane.asp, and you call that copyright infringement. Besides, the reference is to a blog and is written in first person. There are Wikipedia guidelines cautioning against all that. I'm thinking this guy deserved a well-written article with good references that will stand up to overzealous editors--not some half-assed bullshit copy job from a blog the day after he died. Where the hell is Red Bull and everyone else who made money off this guy? They don't have writers or media contacts so that we have some good references from mainstream media sources?

It appears that the copyright infringement has been addressed. --Travis Thurston+ 19:28, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Where are they? Wikeye (talk) 00:35, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Who made IMDB god anyway? There so far behind, well it's not even funny. Get a life dirtbag. R.I.P Shane. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.219.158 (talk) 08:59, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Niro circus[edit]

Nitro Circus? I fail to see why some random MTV show paying tribute is worthy of mentioning (twice!) over all the other tributes. Does anyone over 12 watch MTV? And listing it under Career Accomplishments? (unsigned by User:71.105.92.83)

Agreed. One was mentioned in "career accomplishments" so I removed them both.--Travis Thurston+ 23:42, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality[edit]

Was he a US or Canadian citizen? perhaps both?

As he was born in Canada I would default the biography template to list him as Canadian; unless a reference can be found stating otherwise.ponyo (talk) 18:56, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shane was born in Canada. He moved to California when he was 2 or 3 and lived most of his life in California. He had dual citizenship at least until he was 18. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.140.42.16 (talk) 19:40, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

McConkey Ski Lift at PCMR[edit]

The lift is actually named after either his mother or his father not actually after Shane. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.253.204 (talk) 22:39, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

I'm not sure whether this is the correct platform to ask this. But can anyone tell me why he didn't just open his parachute and leave his skies where they were (at his feet)?? I'm really interested in getting this right. Thank you in advance! --Area42 (talk) 06:45, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Family ?[edit]

Saw the Movie yesterday. There is no word about his wife Sherry and his daughter Ayla in the wiki article. http://espn.go.com/action/freeskiing/news/story?id=6247908 --Foozy7 (talk) 07:56, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
