Page title[edit]

Shouldn't his page be titled P. Diddy instead of Sean Combs per COMMONNAME? Similar to how R. Kelly's page isn't called "Robert Kelly". 150.143.27.147 (talk) 12:49, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, yes it should. 2600:1700:5240:E50:5589:C5FC:552B:37B4 (talk) 04:39, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Change "Sean Love Combs" to "Sean Combs". He is not the personification of love, and he just got exposed on camera physically assaulting Cassie Ventura. 104.139.37.104 (talk) 17:27, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: What do either of those things have to do with removing a stage name? Tollens (talk) 17:33, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Add to Category:Violence against women in the United States[edit]

Given the recent video that was leaked, Combs qualifies to be in this category. 150.143.27.147 (talk) 14:36, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with this idea. Pretty much every individual listed there is a serial killer. — Diannaa (talk) 15:18, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New photo[edit]

Proposed image
current image

I propose this newer updated photo of Combs, it's better because you can actually see his eyes and he is not looking down, unlike the current photo. Can we reach a consensus on this Cena332 (talk) 17:59, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't noticed that there was a discussion on changing the image and I made the mistake of adding a picture I found. But here it is Shoot for the Stars (talk) 02:03, 20 May 2024 (UTC): proposed image|thumb[reply]
Non-free photos of living people are not allowed. We have to use a compatibly-licensed image. So File:Sean Combs 2018.jpeg is not ok. I like the idea of a screen shot from the YouTube video, but he looks quote awful in the one you uploaded. Can you find and upload a better example? — Diannaa (talk) 12:07, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar Correction[edit]

The word "formally" in the first sentence should be changed to "formerly"

"...known by his stage names Diddy, P. Diddy, and **formerly** Puff Daddy and Puffy". Dman7456 (talk) 21:19, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Puffy" was never used as a stage name, and he retired the P. Diddy name in 2005.[1] Cena332 (talk) 00:54, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh he retired the name p Diddy in 2005. Didn't know that. Only know Diddy because of the Tupac and biggie thing in the 1990s. Barely know anything he did in the 2000s. What if I say "known by his stage name Diddy, (and formally Puff Daddy and P. Diddy)" HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 01:31, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

because I don't think the article should say known by stage names p Diddy and puff daddy if he retired those names. It should say formerly so people know he retired those names HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 01:33, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

HumansRightsIsCool I'm ok with that. However i would recommend using the newest first. "...known by his stage name Diddy, and formerly P. Diddy and Puff Daddy is an American rapper, record producer and record executive." Is that ok with you? Cena332 (talk) 01:35, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 01:58, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ok great i will change it on behalf of you. --Cena332 (talk) 01:59, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why are we saying he retired these names if people and his peers still address him as P. Diddy or Puff? Orlandus 426 (talk) 00:11, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Orlandus 426 Please still call X twitter and it's not called that anymore. Just because people called him puffy, puff, or puff daddy doesn't mean that's still his name, he doesn't call himself that and that's the important thing HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 01:45, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry In my example I meant "people still call X twitter", English isn't my first language HumansRightsIsCool (talk) 01:46, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What he is known as is also important, not just what he says. This is especially true for pop culture figures. We wouldn't remove "Kanye West" from the wikipedia page just because he changed his name to Ye. Perhaps it could simply be (AKA P. Diddy, Puffy, etc) to avoid this point of contention. 157.131.201.196 (talk) 05:17, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
