Closed as merge, but to Scrabble instead of the list, per support for a merge to that instead of the list. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 22:26, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

While the game did receive significant coverage from general press (1) as well as gaming-specific outlets, it was all focused on the use of profane and potentially homophobic words. I was able to find a reliable source's review and a brief secondary announcement, but not much else. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/School Shooter: North American Tour 2012 concluded that the game was more notable for the controversy than the game itself, and the article became a redirect to the list entry, so there is precedent. Opposed Why would a reader expect this topic to redirect to the list of controversial video games? If it's being merged anywhere, it should be an article on the Scrabble franchise. -- ferret (talk) 02:29, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge, but first with Scrabble (video game) The nomination should be merged. Yes, it fails notability having no assessment other than a sentence in Games for Windows [1]. IGN has some good sources for a 2007 mobile Scrabble game, but I'm not sure if that's the same release. There is widespread sourcing on the controversy, including Engadget [2] Wired [3][4] The Escapist [5] Eurogamer [6] and Destructoid [7]. But just because the only sourcing that can be found about an article is on its notoriety doesn't mean its natural home is a controversy list. That said, I was surprised that there's no real criteria for inclusion in the list, so given the sourcing on the controversy is good, there's no issue with putting it there too. • Oppose It should be merged into the Scrabble main article. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 05:55, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
