Merge[edit]

I recommend that the article Everyday Heroes be merged into this one, as I'm not convinced that it's independently notable. --Elonka 22:59, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page move[edit]

I recommend moving this page to Port Charles (General Hospital). Or if it has to stay with "fictional city", then it should be lowercased: Port Charles (fictional city). Anyone else have an opinion? --Elonka 02:54, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Starjakespromo.png[edit]

Image:Starjakespromo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Removal of some lists[edit]

I removed some rather unnecessary lists (in my opinion) from this article, though in my opinion some more trimming needs to be done. I think some of the details need to be merged into other sections. For instance, we have the city council, mayor, and police section, which should probably be discussed rather than just listed. Also, the list of GH staff that I removed... um, the show is called "General Hospital" and there are a lot of characters who worked in that building. The list is unmanageable and the most notable doctors should be mentioned in the section about the hospital. AniMate 20:45, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't want the lists of the general hospital LIST OF DOCTORS AND NURSES REMOVED. Unless you are creating a new page just dealing with the hgospital hen the list can be moved there. Till that happeneds I will continue to make sure that that list is under port charles city —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.251.186.194 (talk) 18:39, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most likely the above post is from yet another incarnation of User:Randy Jaiyan who has been banned from the site. He's created an army of socks and anonymous IP addresses that trace back to Ontario, Canada. Best to ignore him. AniMate 22:37, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Content streamlining[edit]

In the course of my copy edit, I'm scaling back a lot of the tangential plot details this article includes; a lot of them are not usefully relevant to this article's focus, which is the fictional LOCATION. It's relevant to know that, like many soap opera settings, Port Charles is beset by all manner of crimes and disasters. It is not, however, important to know the minute details surrounding each one. Other GH articles (character pages, in-depth by-decade history of the series, etc.) are better for that information. ElectricValkyrie (talk) 23:59, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Repetitive Sections[edit]

  1. I think Section 4.10 Residences and Section 7 Port Charles Residences should be combined into one. However I'm not sure if the full list of each house/apt is needed (Section 7), does anyone oppose to it being deleted and leaving Section 4.10?
  2. I think Section 7 Notable Families can be deleted/merged into the list in the infobox - anyone oppose?

Thanks! Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 20:37, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update - can we discuss the list of residences? I combined the two sections as they don't need to be listed twice, and my edits were reverted. I did cut down the content a little. I think individual names don't necessarily need to be included as those are on the character's page, or residences just as "Steve's Apt" residence of Steve, with no address or other information. At the very least, even if we keep all info they should be in one section together. Can we discuss? Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 01:23, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should keep the page the way it was. It seems to be the uniform way that all the soaps & TV shows do it. It's been that way for years, and I really don't see why it should be changed. The addresses of the characters is part of the town, which is what this page is all about. --Ackgh73994 (talk) 03:50, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
