Merger with Traditionalist School (perennialism)[edit]

I think it should be merged with Traditionalist School (perennialism) as the description on that article describes them as sharing the same distinguishing belief. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AverroesII (talk • contribs) 14:27, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This should never be done because not every perennialist is necessarily a traditionalist. For example, Madame Blavatsky was also a perennialist, but not a traditionalist. Additionally, traditionalists criticized Theosophy and Blavatsky.

New Age section[edit]

The concept of the perennial philosophy is of course influential in some New Age circles. However, I'm wondering about the relevance of the section to this article. There are perennialist currents within many traditional religions as well as among the spiritual but not religious crowd, but these do not have their own sections in the article. If the New Age section is to remain, I would say it should focus on its role in the development and or popularization of perennialism. As of right now, the section simply defines the movement and states perennialism's influence, but does not elaborate on their relationship any further.
