British or American English[edit]

Is this article supposed to be in American or British English? --DThomsen8 (talk) 15:07, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly doesn't matter, as Nepal has no strong association with either form. --Stfg (talk) 13:22, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On second thoughts, probably British English, as the Gurkhas have strong associations with parts of the world that speak BrE. --Stfg (talk) 13:25, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
British English is preferable. American English will also do.: Traditionally, British English had been more popular in the South Asian region. However, since last decade, American English is also gaining popularity in South Asia. Go for the one, you are more comfortable with. MithilaDesham (talk) 10:28, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article is a possible hoax?[edit]

@Utcursch: Hi, this article seems to have been originally created as a "federal state" of Nepal however there is no administrative entity in Nepal by the name of Mithila and there is no movement for an aspirant state like in India. Most of the information in the article is covered by the Mithila (region) article anyway so should this one be deleted? Thanks Damien2016 (talk) 20:05, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Damien2016: I agree that most of the information in this article is redundant: the references talk about Mithila region in general, not Nepal-specific part of Mithila. Looking at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mithila (Nepal), those who voted keep envisaged this as an article about a proposed state in Nepal, just like Mithila, India. I think the generic things such as ancient history should be removed from both Mithila (Nepal) and Mithila (Nepal) -- these belong in Mithila (region). The two country-specific articles should focus on the movement for the proposed state, something like Vidarbha movement, Punjabi Suba movement, Mahagujarat movement, and Samyukta Maharashtra Movement. I do not have enough knowledge about Nepal to determine if there is an aspirant movement for a separate Mithila state in that country. If you feel there's not, you can re-nominate this article for deletion. utcursch | talk 22:11, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Utcursch: Thank you for the advise, I'll most the general stuff to the Mithila (region) article and keep the country specific content on this page. Damien2016 (talk) 22:32, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
