Longest lasting November hurricane?[edit]

Hurricane Gordon say so, but the cited link is broken. It could be confirmed using HURDAT. Also check for other records. Plasticup T/C 18:00, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As the author of the storm history in the main Gordon article, yea, HURDAT confirms that Gordon is tied for the longest November tropical cyclone, and I would guess Gordon was a tropical storm for more time. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:09, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need rainfall figures for:

  • Nicaragua
  • Jamaica
  • Haiti
  • Cuba
  • Bahamas
  • Florida
  • North Carolina

HPC has rainfall for US other than Florida (SE US totals, Mid-Atlantic totals). The NHC storm wallets have plenty of info, though it looks like nothing for Cuba, Bahamas, or Nicaragua. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:14, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Season Summary there is no such data for Nicaragua, Cuba and the Bahamas so I'll be satisfied with "heavy rainfall" Plasticup T/C 16:31, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Funny business near the Bahamas[edit]

"By nightfall that day the tropical storm had not only made two landfalls, but had also gained subtropical characteristics" - the subtropical characteristics aren't explained, and there are a lot of other meteorological phenomenon at this point that need to be elaborated upon. Article name[edit]

Considering Gordon was not retired after the 1994 season, I believe we should move this article to Meteorological history of Hurricane Gordon (1994). -- tariqabjotu 07:20, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This storm has by far the most interesting meteorological history of all the Hurricane Gordons, but I suppose that you are right. I am baffled as to why the name wasn't retired - Gordon dropped half a meter of rain of Haiti and killed over 1000 people. Plasticup T/C 11:25, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
