"she was found hanged in her flat in Paris on 20 May 2009 after committing suicide" wording is wrong.

how exactly did she hang herself after committing suicide and what method did she use for her suicide? 216.58.89.136 (talk) 21:18, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

seems pretty clear to me: she was FOUND after committing suicide. She didn't hang herself after committing suicide. So it went something like this -- she hanged herself. Then she (her body) was found hanging. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.215.96.64 (talk) 04:57, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Good source of information for this article[edit]

The best source of information on the Internet that I've seen so far is the Daily Mail's article. It contains a pretty comprehensive detailing of her short life. -->David Shankbone 19:15, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

Why would she kill herself? Did she have some sort of problems? Any sources on that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.108.225.137 (talk) 03:07, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As of this writing, I don't believe that anyone has a clue, and if you read the Daily Mail article linked above, her father said that it came completely out of the blue. -->David Shankbone 03:27, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It does say she hanged herself after her friend's suicide, so she was not mentally strong and could not dealt with the loss and committed suicide. That's pretty self explanatory. Gives you a reason right there. Norum (talk) 08:48, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's just conjecture. Another reason was she and her boyfriend weren't getting along. None of that explains why an up-and-coming star would hang herself, and nobody had any inkling, including her family, to whom she was close. At this point, it's all guesswork. -->David Shankbone 12:11, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As the article on suicide states, more than a million individuals do so every year and it is a leading cause of death specifically for those under 35. With the current basis and state of human society this is hardly a surprise. Lycurgus (talk) 15:32, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But it's not a random act. There are causes for it. The way you wrote that above makes it sound like it's as if she died in a car accident. There are a multitude of reasons for suicide specific to the individual. The question here for her, and for us, is which one was it? -->David Shankbone 16:04, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not responsible for your interpretations. Obviously I would never characterize this most intentional of human acts as an accident. Lycurgus (talk) 17:16, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That a friend committed suicide is not sufficient to explain her suicide. Did Gordon previously attempt suicide or self harm? Had she been diagnosed with any mental disorders? Best name (talk) 21:30, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This all leads us to one point - that she was mentally unstable. Whether it was her friend's suicide or her not getting along with her friend proves that she was mentally unstable and could not deal with life's situations and took the easy way out, instead of facing the problem. Norum (talk) 00:24, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Danke, für ihre wise, compassionate, and expert opinings/meinungen. Lycurgus (talk) 02:42, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know who her friend in England was? Was she also an actress? Looking for emotional reasons and connections often leads one to the right answer, not everything is a science. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Our group (talkcontribs) 09:50, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More pictures[edit]

I think we should add pictures from her appearance as Jane Birkin. She needs all the respect in the world for her work. -lollomonkey1

Boyfriend's surname[edit]

In the Death section, Jerome's surname is spelt Almeras the first two times, but Alveras the last time. Many sources give the first spelling, and many give the second; which is correct? Best name (talk) 11:28, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article is too thin[edit]

It is too thin with too few hard facts. People will soon come here and use this for reference for research so we must be able to help them in the right direction. There are not many personal details such as religion or life stance. We also need the name of her friend who commited suicide first and we need some more info on this Almeras/Alveras guy. People will always speculate into murder/suicide so he is very important. M99 87.59.100.128 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:41, 4 June 2009 (UTC).[reply]
