Order of guests[edit]

It would be good to place the guests of foreign Royal Families in the same order as in the official invitation: http://www.officialroyalwedding2011.org/blog/2011/April/23/Selected-Guest-List-for-the-Wedding-Service-at-Westminster-Abbey

At the moment, it is by country (e.g. the Prince and Princess of Asturias are listed with the Queen of Spain). There are so many errors in the official list: "the Prince and Princess of the Asturias", "of the Bulgarian", "the Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg", "the Crown Prince and Princess of the Netherlands". And why is Abu Dhabi listed between Tonga and Yugoslavia? Surely somebody is not alphabetizing under Trucial States?!? Noel S McFerran (talk) 17:04, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Noel, why should it be alphabetical? There must be some reason as to the order of the official list (which definitely was not alphabetical), and even if there is none, it was the official programme that was released to the public. Therefore it would be more in keeping with the original spirit to list the guests in the same order that the couple had it listed and correct the errors made. At any rate my edit was changed back and the Netherlands still appears as second (?). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emanuel Kingsley (talkcontribs) 20:54, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Declined invitations[edit]

Both HM King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia [1], HM Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain[2] and HE Stephen Harper (Prime Minister of Canada) and Laureen Harper[3] have all declined their invitations for various reasons.--Wipsenade (talk) 15:14, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Princely House of Liechtenstein[edit]

Just curious.

Why are "royals" listed from Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Yugoslavia and Romania but no mention is made of anyone from Liechtenstein, which actually is a principality? Trajanis (talk) 20:00, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because no member of the Princely House of Liechtenstein attended the wedding. The Prince and Princess of Liechtenstein are attending the beatification of Pope John Paul II on Sunday. Noel S McFerran (talk) 21:19, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other foreign royal attendees[edit]

Didn't the following foreign royals also attend the wedding?

The King and Queen of Jordan; The Emir of Kuwait; The Sultan of Oman; The Emir and Sheika of Qatar; The King of BhutanTrajanis (talk) 07:00, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

They were removed from the list here by these two edits by an IP user, without explanation. --Colin Douglas Howell (talk) 18:17, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know about the others but I didnt see the King of Bhutan at the wedding. Spongie555 (talk) 05:33, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It appears from this article that: Sheikh Ahmad Hamoud Al-Sabah of Kuwait, the Emir of the State of Qatar and his wife Sheika Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned

attended the wedding

Evening bash[edit]

There's a list of attendees at the evening party at Buckingam Palace here - should this information be included? Opera hat (talk) 10:48, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notable people not invited[edit]

I think this section is weird and unnecessary. I mean, Peyton Manning was a notable person not invited, and Zonker Harris was a notable person whose lack of an invitation was covered in mass media, and yet neither of those non-invitations seems particularly relevant to the article (nor does Obama's, who was for any number of reasons unlikely to attend, which the royal family probably knew). I think this section inherently violates WP:NPOV by implying that there is some significance to these particular non-invitations. Chick Bowen 00:20, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since there was no response, I've removed it. Chick Bowen 02:38, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I actually think this section should be restored, as long as there are reliable sources showing that the absence of each person listed there was discussed by the mainstream media. Yes, it's silly that they talked about Obama being absent, when he had considerably more important things to be doing, but the fact that they did means it's worth mentioning; likewise the absence of Tony Blair and Sarah Ferguson. But I won't re-add it unless there's a consensus for doing so here. Robofish (talk) 16:04, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, so we have to look it up in the somewhere-before-5-May-2011 old-version. Fine.--131.159.76.216 (talk) 16:32, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The then Earl of Snowdon was not invited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.167.88.131 (talk) 08:47, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relatives of Groom -> House of Windsor[edit]

Any descendants of Princess Royal, Princess Margaret and Princess Alexandra doesn't belong to House of Windsor so the heading should be altered

Edit Warrring[edit]

@2A02:85F:F800:0:0:0:0:0/40: You should not be changing the official titles of Constantine II of Greece. It is wrong. You are Edit Warring over official titles of Constantine II Greece, Edit Warring is not ok. Chip3004 (talk) 05:03, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
