Greetings PMC - Because of the details below, I am posting this message here so it's available for additional editors, instead of to your talk page.

Last month (June 2023) I de-orphaned about 50 rural localities by wikilink to this list. Now this month, for Category:Orphaned articles from July 2023 there are over 80 of these Tatarstan rural locality articles.

From article history, I see that you added content to the list here (28 August 2022). I'm asking if you can help with this de-orphaning?

To find those articles within the category, just click on the Hide SDs button & then in browser search for "Tatarstan". If you can start with the "A"s & go forward, I have already completed the "Z"s and am proceeding in reverse.

To place the locality article into the list, the "tricky" part is that most article's Wikilink are spelled different than in the List. For example "Mamadış District" (article) vs. "Mamadyshsky District" (list). Each article is placed alphabetical within the district. There may also be the need to add a new District to the list if it's missing.

If you're unable to assist with this, it would be great if you know of others who can help.

Lastly, sorry for the length of this message. Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 13:30, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Joel, years ago somebody much smarter than me wrote me a script that would go through all the articles in "Category:Rural localities in X" and spit out a wiki-formatted list organized by district. It was basically a godsend, I was de-orphaning literally hundreds of these things at a time. It seems to still work but requires a little more finesse since the main category has been split into subcategories. Let me take a whack at it. ♠PMC(talk) 19:36, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There, I think I've cleared them out for now. Let me know if you see another run of them and I can have another go. ♠PMC(talk) 20:14, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PMC - Bless you for doing this, Wonderful!!! And yes, for August & going forward, I will watch for more. Since there were a pile in June there may be more each month. Thank you so much. Cheers! JoeNMLC (talk) 22:02, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Don't thank me, thank JJMC89, who wrote the script in the first place. Such a niche thing to build but it's saved me so much effort over the years. ♠PMC(talk) 22:09, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
