Dates?[edit]
Shouldn't this page contain the dates (years) when the people it lists were born and died? For an example of the use of dates, please see Cary (surname). When I have a few free moments, I'm going to start adding dates. DutchmanInDisguise (talk) 15:44, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
So yesterday I finished supplying dates for all the denizens of this list for whom they were available. In the process of doing so, I stumbled over five Carys, of whom 3 were on the other list and 2 weren't. The Carey list is now Cary-free, and the two lists have "see also" links referencing one another. DutchmanInDisguise (talk) 22:30, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
An unwieldy page?[edit]
Wow! I started editing this page a couple of months ago, after trying to find info on some guys with the Carey surname and being disappointed at not seeing any dates after their names. Then, I discovered there were a lot of folks with that surname that just weren't on the list, so I started adding them. The page has grown from 111 names to 178 names, and I am probably nowhere near done. Is it starting to become unwieldy? Does anybody really refer to it? Done?[edit]
So I finally finished adding people to this page. I think there are now 266 people listed. That's quite a lot! Do you like the page as is, or should we do something else? I took a quick look at the list of people with surname Smith and saw that there were several dozen sub-dab-pages for the various given names, plus more than 100 pages for the rest of the Smiths. Wow! I don't think the Careys are ready for anything quite that elaborate. What do you think? DutchmanInDisguise (talk) 02:04, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
