The problem is that the France airdates are not verified. Also please find a more reliable source for the Australian airdates. They should only be listed if they significantly precede all other English version broadcasts. The ladyblog one is user-generated so it is not clear those are accurate. I tried to restore the ones from ABC that were there before. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 13:25, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The ABC's links are often ephemeral, and so likely to disappear at any time. The fan ones used are the most likely to survive for any length of time. WeepingAngel63 (talk) 20:55, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The ABC links need to be archived then with wayback. User-generated fan pages can't be used as a reliable source. But the tag is for the French airdates. If you can find sources for those, then we can remove the tag. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:48, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Season 2 underway[edit]

Please help fill in the French airdates using TFOU or television schedules. I've been using the Facebook posts from the official TFOU, since the TF1 website doesn't really show a programming schedule. I ask editors to not fill in the production codes or English titles unless you can provide a source for them. Perhaps Netflix will show them in a particular production order? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:07, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Need to find a news source for 4 November for UK premiere as the tweet by a fan site is not acceptable as a reliable source. The Disney channel UK schedule has already past this point, and is showing The Collector as a rerun. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:39, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Christmas Special: The real McCoy?[edit]

This is something which I'm not trying to suggest should be put in the article without proper sourcing, of course, but I was wondering: In the Christmas special, is it possible that what everyone initially assumed to be "another fake Santa" was supposed to, in fact, be THE Santa Claus after all, like so much Edmund Gwenn? It might be good to be (casually) on the lookout for official confirmation of such a thing, if it ever happens -- or even a statement to the effect that "That is something each viewer can decide for himself." 2601:545:8202:4EA5:0:0:0:7BF (talk) 07:39, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think the ones who called them a fake Santa were more of the impression that he was one of those random mall Santas. They don't really go into whether he was the real Santa, although when he is akumatized, he has supervillain powers. He doesn't get the "was he real" treatment at the end of the episode as seen on multiple sitcoms. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:13, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, no characters in the episode get to thinking he might be the real one, but the audience is treated to that possibility. A big clue comes when Adrien is riding with Santa in his sleigh, and they have this exchange (with my added emphasis):
Adrien: How about you, sir? Where will you be celebrating Christmas?
Santa: Me? I have all of Paris -- the whole world, even.
In a translation of the actual French dialogue, the last part reads "The entire world loves me."
(Please forgive the changing IP address; it just happens.) 2601:545:8202:4EA5:A8FD:BF96:E837:8918 (talk) 06:52, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Season 2 English[edit]

Now that Netflix is the delayed English version that won't be broadcast under Spring 2018, should Disney Channel UK (UK and Ireland) be used for the airdates for Miraculous season 2 English version? Otherwise, we can wait a week or two for December to get going. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:38, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

SAP in English broadcast in Spain[edit]

Per WP:TVINTL broadcast text, "Editors are encouraged instead to add noteworthy foreign broadcasts, if reliably sourced. These can include: broadcasts in primarily English-speaking nations such as the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand; special cases such as an American series airing its finale first in France; " As Spain is not a primarily English-speaking nation, they are listed for worldwide, but their secondary audio program broadcast in English doesn't replace the premiere date for noteworthy English broadcast. Laura Marano in a Miraculous episode[edit]

Can someone find some news articles that confirm whether Marano has a voice role in the episode, or whether they just used her likeness for the episode, of which that would just be trivia best left for the Wikia. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:32, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Laura Marano will be voiced herself in English dub in episode Frightningale (Rossignoble); that was confirmed with Dany Boon as Gagotor and Philippe Candeloro as Frozer... Her character name in English dub is Laura Nightingale and in French dub is her name Laura Rossignol. Mr.inkognito123 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:31, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Production codes for season 4[edit]

Mr.inkognito123 Please provide references for the season 2 production numbers. Otherwise, we are going by the Netflix sequence for the first 12 episodes. The SDCC screenshot you provided is too blurry to make out any numbers. You'll need something like this: [1] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:21, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've added links for Movistar+ and Radio Times. Please continue looking for sources that confirm production orders. These may still be different from the Netflix one, so I have included all three towards production code numbering. Note MS and RT are also inconsistent in some of the numbering. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:28, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this be titled "Production codes for season 2"? I can anecdotally confirm that ABC ME in Australia are airing the episodes in the same order as the S2 codes currently on the page - today's being "Malediktator" (223). Of course that's not verification, but is suggestive. I'm pretty sure they did the same for S1. WeepingAngel63 (talk) 09:59, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Netflix and episode order[edit]

Firstly, I think the "Netflix release date" should be specified. Is it the American or French release date? I can confirm that only Season 1 is available on Netflix in both Austria and the UK, which leads me to assume it's the case for most European countries, but as I don't have access to any other accounts, I can't confirm any other countries for certain.

Secondly, I am extremely confused by the episode order. Is it simply based off of the French release date or is that the episode order for the Netflix episodes as well? The reason I am asking is because I went to the French source for the episodes and it doesn't specifically say "Season 3 Episode 1" anywhere (as an example), it was just the first season 3 episode that was released; and with kids shows, they are sometimes on TV out of order. I am confused about the episode order because on Sky in the UK, it does say, for example, "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir S3 ep1", but it is a different episode than listed on the wiki.

It currently only shows episodes airing within the next week, but what I can see says

  • S3E05: Reflekdoll (listed as TBA/17th in the list)
  • S3E08: Oni-chan (listed as TBA/10th in the list)
  • S3E09: Miraculer (listed as TBA/11th in the list)
  • S3E11: Desperada (listed as TBA/18th in the list)
  • S3E16: Gamer 2.0 (listed as TBA/13th in the list)
  • S3E19: Timetagger (listed as TBA/12th in the list)
  • S3E21: The Puppeteer 2 (listed as TBA/15th in the list)

(I can edit this list in the future if necessary)

Meanwhile, episode 5 is Bakerix and 8 is Stormy Weather 2 in the wiki. The fact that they are listed as TBA also confuses me because for the French release date, it simply says 2019 but if they are already airing dubbed in the UK, then they must be out in France already as well. Furthermore, as an example, in the episode "Gamer 2.0", they play a video game fighting all the previous akumatised characters and one of them is Reflekdool, which is listed as an episode later than Gamer 2.0 in the list. It would have to be before Gamer 2.0 (like in the list above) rathen than after (as is currently in the wiki). Bonjourmarlene (talk) 12:15, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Out of order episodes and outdated information[edit]

I'm going to put a few episodes back in order and change a some TBA tags to the date they were aired. Ziet (talk) 20:58, 10 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sheer redundancy of "first premiered"[edit]

So has it never dawned on anyone here the sheer blatant redundancy of the phrase "first premiered"? "Premiere" is simply the French word for "first", so "first premiered" means "first firsted" or "first first appeared" (providing context for the word as a verb). This does not even address the potential ambiguity of "premiered worldwide", which could easily be taken as "premiered all over the world" i.e. everywhere in the world, in (more or less) every country, when what it is actually referring to in this article is the premiere FOR the world, in whatever single country (or so) it took place, which is correctly called the "world premiere"; so that "first premiered worldwide" should properly read "world-premiered" or "had its world premiere", or the larger rephrasing "The world premiere of this episode was in..." 2601:545:8201:6290:859C:CB5F:A98B:55B2 (talk) 01:15, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Creating separate articles for each season[edit]

As the series has now more than 3 full seasons, it could be great if the lists of episodes with detailed summaries could be moved to separate articles, one for each season, as it is something that has been done for many series. See for instance the List of Naruto: Shippuden episodes, which is an absolute example of what should be done for lists of episodes (especially if we hope for the series to have this many seasons ;) ). Semi-protected edit request on 29 May 2021[edit]

Please change the preliminary description of "Queen Banana" ("When Chloé is akumatized into Queen Banana, Ladybug decides to entrust a Miraculous to a new and promising ally. She should help her to stop the supervillain and her giant gorilla"), to this one, now that the episode has aired:

"Marinette's class is filming a movie, with Zoé in the leading role. However, Chloé, jealous of her half-sister's casting, tries to edit the film to star her as "Queen Banana", with a banana-themed car, a giant gorilla, and exploding bananas. When her class refuses to comply with her demands, she is actually akumatized into "Queen Banana", complete with a car and a gorilla sentimonster, who can turn people into bananas. To defeat her, Ladybug gives Zoé the Bee Miraculous, transforming her into the superheroine "Vesperia"."

Please change the preliminary description of "Optigami" ("Now since Shadow Moth knows the identities of some of the superheroes, he forges a new plan to find out the identity of Ladybug. To this end, Nathalie creates a new, dangerous sentimonster: Optigami.") to this one:

"Ever since Chloé revealed the Miraculous holders' identity in "Miracle Queen", Gabriel and Nathalie have been tracking them with the spy camera sentimonster "Optigami". To lure them out, Gabriel invites them all to a ceremony with Audrey Bourgeois, where he creates a sentimonster copy of Alec Cataldi, the show's moderator, to rile up Audrey and turn her back into Style Queen. She successfully eliminates Kagami, Chloé, Max, Luka, Kim, and Nino, but Marinette and Adrien are stuck together and can't transform. Marinette calls Kaalki to bring Alya to Marinette's house so she can turn into Rena Rouge, who brings Adrien to safety and gives Marinette the Bee Miraculous. Shadow Moth creates a sentimonster copy of Nino to distract Alya, who even transforms into "Carapace" with the Turtle Miraculous Alya brought. Marinette fuses the Ladybug and Bee Miraculous to become "Lady Bee", and defeats Style Queen with the help of Rena Rouge and the sentimonster Carapace. At the end of the episode, Marinette makes Alya the permanent holder of the Fox Miraculous."

For this edit request and the previous one, consider the episodes themselves as the sources. Thanks! Miracusaurs (talk) 01:46, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the Miraculous films to the page[edit]

Since the beginning of September, User:Mr. Oreki Sama, now blocked, has edit-warred to remove the Miraculous films, including Ladybug and Cat Noir Awakening and the possibly-cancelled live action Miraculous film, from the page. From what I can interpret of his below-average English, I believe his reasoning is that because they are not "episodes" per se, they shouldn't belong on this "list of episodes". As of now the films are deleted; I will refrain from readding them, as my post on WP:AN3 concerning the matter gave me a warning and readding them could lead me to being blocked. However, since other animated TV show episode lists include films (such as those for Sid the Science Kid and Steven Universe), I support their inclusion; however I need the opinion of other editors. Pinging @Mr.inkognito123: who is the only other editor to revert Sama's removals. Miracusaurs (talk) 06:22, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there are two options: either keep the films section or delete it from other episode lists. I would keep it. Mr.inkognito123 (talk)
@Mr.inkognito123: If you agree they should be included, we'd have to wait for another editor to agree or you can go ahead and re-add them yourself (If I do it, I'll get blocked) Miracusaurs (talk) 12:29, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Proper dates[edit]

Resolved
 – Article is now clear of Category:Episode lists with unformatted air dates

@Mr.inkognito123: and @Miracusaurs: I'm pinging you two as you seem to be fairly consistent and recent here. If you know of other relevant and/or involved editors, please feel free to ping them as well.

This page is consistently showing up in the maintenance category Category:Episode lists with unformatted air dates because there are a good deal of improperly formatted dates. The template used is correct, but it does not support multiple dates in a single entry. Most of the Series look OK - it's primarily the table of Specials and of Webisodes that are the problem. I'm asking for your help going forward in trying to get this fixed. It might require some give-and-take on what dates are actually included.

The OriginalAirDate format needs to be {{Start date|YYYY|MM|DD|df=yes}} (|df=yes being optional, but you do use it here). You both seem aware of this, but I include it for others who may jump in later. What you might not be aware of is that the parameter is intended to be (1) only for the date, and (2) only a single date. On the first one, only a date, that would include any extra info like country or reference citations. The maintenance category does not seem to be strict on inclusion of reference citations, but it is on other extra non-date template items (like country or network). Related to this, all other dates in a single row must be MOS:DATE rather than the start date template - it can strictly only be used once per row (see "notes": [2]).

So you need to come to a consensus on how you will display airdate information while complying with the standards for the template. This may mean foregoing multiple dates displayed and limiting it to two categories of date (OriginalAirDate and AltDate). (Technically, you could go to a wiki table, but Wikipedia:WikiProject Television really wants/prefers these to be Episode list.) The template docs describe the use of OriginalAirDate_1, OriginalAirDate_2, etc, but I would strongly caution against using those. They are intended for use when it's a multipart episode (i.e. Part 1, Part 2, etc).

In making the decision to trim things to work within the bounds of the template requirements, consider that it is not necessary to be "all inclusive" with air dates. Wikipedia is not a TV directory. So it's OK to focus on whatever the primary release network/source is. For example, if the French release on MyTF1 is primary to Youtube, use that; or vice versa. I'm not familiar enough with this particular show to make that call, which is why I pinged you, since you both seem to have enough knowledge of it to know what's important and what is not. To distill this down to the basic request - you need to come to a consensus on which release source is most important to include for OriginalAirDate and AltDate. Just stay consistent with whatever is decided. As you probably know already, you can customize the text for the headings as needed, and that would be where you can indicate that a specific column is "Netflix" or whatever. TIA (thanks in advance) ButlerBlog (talk) 15:29, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There's been a general consensus for the OriginalAirDate to be the date when an episode premieres on TFOU in France, and AltDate for when an episode premiered on TV in the United States (on whatever network; the show has switched networks quite often during its run). Miracusaurs (talk) 12:06, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think now it's only the webisodes that need to be cleared up with keeping only the TF1 dates and adding the footnote for YouTube premieres that were earlier than that. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 15:27, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There were some possible invalid values outside of the webisodes table. The ones I saw were in the Specials. I addressed the two I think were problematic. The first was one that was evidently aired in 2 parts. When this occurs, you can set "NumParts=2" (or 3, or whatever the number needs to be) and then use OriginalAirDate_1, OriginalAirDate_2, etc for the air dates of various parts. The second edit was also in the Specials where there were separate airings for "New York – United Heroez". I limited the field to the first date (per the template docs) and footnoted the second date. After those two, the only other issues I see are the webisodes but we'll see for sure by checking the maintenance category once those are addressed. ButlerBlog (talk) 16:15, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As of now (May 2022), recent edits have cleaned up problematic date formatting; and (for now) the article is cleared out of the maintenance category Category:Episode lists with unformatted air dates. ButlerBlog (talk) 13:31, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting the Episodes section[edit]

Regarding my message about splitting the Episode section, if the series continues and more seasons are added it might become necessary, and besides if each season have its own article, we will be able to give a more detailed summary about each season's plot and shorten the episode's summaries even further. And besides i looked through wikipedia, famous TV shows such as this with more then 100 episodes are separated based on their seasons (even some of them got less than 100), and by the end of season 5, Miraculous will have 131 episodes. Ahmad kaluu (talk) 06:06, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Let's wait until, say, the end of season 5 or the beginning of any subsequent season, when the page becomes a pain to scroll through on both computers and tablets. I'll still remove the "too long" tag as that is only meant to be used when there is too much detail, but the page contains (imo) just the right amount to be consice. Miracusaurs (talk) 00:47, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It is already a pain to scroll through on a phone but I'm fine with waiting till the end of season 5. Quelrod (talk) 16:08, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

season 5 episode order[edit]

What order is being used?

It seems with the exception of production code 505 the order is production code. However, if I reorder this episode then it gets reverted.

It isn't production code. It isn't the original air date in France, Brazil, or the US. It isn't the actual chronological episode order.

Quelrod (talk) 16:06, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Quelrod "Protection", "Perfection" and "Emotion" has aired in Brazil but not in France or US. France is considered as "Original air date". Yuugone (talk) 16:35, 6 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Season 5 episodes on Disney+[edit]

Episodes 21 - 27 of season 5 (in production order) are currently listed as having a U.S. air date on July 19, 2023 on Disney+. However, on my Disney+ account they only have up to episode 20 released right now. Lupin703 (talk) 01:27, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That information was wrong. Only eps 15-20 were aired in Disney+ at the above date. Shreyan wiki 2 (talk) 14:25, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you know when they will be adding it to Disney+ it’s been a while and I haven’t seen anything about it but somehow people are watching episodes 21-27 of season 5. 47.153.50.180 (talk) 22:06, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that as of right now any episode after episode 20 has no English dub released. They will most likely make it to Disney+ once the season finale has aired. Lupin703 (talk) 08:36, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Season 5 episode "Revelation" air date[edit]

The Season 5 episode "Revelation"'s air date in USA is July 22, 2023 on Disney Channel USA, even though it has premiered on Disney+ at July 19, 2023, we also have to add the dates for Disney Channel USA. So I request to also add the Disney Channel USA air date for the Season 5 episode "Revelation". Shreyan wiki 2 (talk) 13:38, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Action should be at the bottom of season 5's list of episodes at in-season episode #27, not at in-season episode #19, and no, the production code doesn't count, but the fact it was the last episode to be aired does. In tandem with this, very episode in the list of season 5 below Action's current placement needs to have it's in-season episode number changed to it's current number minus 1. In addition to the other change, the French version has since stopped airing with Action's release, so the Season 5's ending being TBA should be replaced with Action's release date.
