Hangon speedy deletion[edit]

InciWeb is the government (US Forest Service) information about current wildfires in the US. I just found out about it today while updating August 2009 California wildfire. It is signficant in that it provides official announcements, including evacuations, road closures, basic info and current situation about the fire. It is an interagency system. One can also get InciWeb on Twitter and Facebook. info to be added later as this is only a STUB!!! Petersam (talk) 00:08, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe there is benefit to Wikipedia to have this federal initiative explained somewhere on the site. Rather than speedy deleting it, I'd prefer to see this go through an AfD, with the option of a merge/redirect to US Forest Service or some larger article if it is determined not to warrant its own. This site will be a helpful reliable source of information on these types of environmental incidents in the US. Jokestress (talk) 00:38, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
