Comment: Special thanks to WanderingWanda and Lee Vilenski who helped out with revising the final hook wordings (ALT0 and ALT1 respectively) on Discord.
Per MOS:EGG I think "voice actress" should just link to voice actress. And, at the risk of opening a can of worms, perhaps consider replacing "actress" with "actor" per MOS:GNL. WanderingWanda (talk) 00:40, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alternatively, we can just not have any of the links, other than the bolded link and the series link. This might not be ideal though. epicgenius (talk) 17:53, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: This is the second time we've had Pretty Cure on DYK, let alone this month; the first one is here. ミラP 03:01, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: @Narutolovehinata5: why do most of your Japanese voice actress hooks focus on why they aspired to be a voice actress? These types of hooks belong in a fan magazine. Why don't you work something around what they actually did? Yoninah (talk) 14:29, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Yoninah: To be honest, I really dislike this kind of hook myself and would rather focus on a different hook fact if I could. The main reason I tend to propose these kind of hooks is because many of these articles are translations of the equivalent Japanese Wikipedia article, which are mostly lacking in life details apart from these "why I want to be a voice actor" information. Sometimes these Japanese articles have other information, but they seem to be even more fanzine-y and more like trivia, which is why I rarely include them when creating articles. I really wish I could propose hooks that don't follow this format and I'm not generally a fan of them myself, but it's usually easier said than done. With that said, I'll try to look up information on her either on the Japanese page or elsewhere and see if I could find anything else of note. I have to note that in some cases, the information on the Japanese articles are sourced to offline sources that I don't have, so there's not much I can do when that happens. @Narutolovehinata5: Thank you for whatever you can do. I often look for unusual wording or connections between facts, like the names of her characters or animes, to develop a hook. But there isn't much here. I also see she didn't fulfill her goal of appearing in Pretty Cure at all. Yoninah (talk) 17:40, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'll see if I can find anything interesting, but if I can't find anything I'll just withdraw this. Not all articles are meant for DYK and even when I first nominated this I was already thinking that the hooks I proposed were starting to stretch things. Narutolovehinata5tccsdnew 23:24, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, as the subject is still a relative newcomer, there really isn't much else information about her that I could still find. Having taken another look at her Japanese Wikipedia page, there isn't anything there that I could borrow to be used as a hook as the remaining information there is trivia that's irrelevant towards non-fans of Japanese voice acting. I'd still like to hear a second opinion on whether or not the hooks I proposed above are suitable or interesting to a broad audience, and if the response is negative, I'll just withdraw this. Narutolovehinata5tccsdnew 07:24, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Approving ALT2, as "Pretty Cure" is not mentioned in the article. This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts for ALT2 are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. I note the discussion above about the hook and see nothing else in the article more interesting. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:23, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I came by to promote ALT2, but I think it's worded more hooky in the article:
Also, I appended the citation in the next sentence to the hook fact. Is that correct? Yoninah (talk) 16:39, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Yoninah: I think that should be okay considering the entire paragraph is sourced to the same reference, with the footnotes only being duplicated for DYK purposes. "Watch" is probably a better word than "view"; if "view" was due to repetition concerns, "watching" could probably be changed to something else. Narutolovehinata5tccsdnew 17:03, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks. Restoring tick per Cwmhiraeth's review. Yoninah (talk) 17:09, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
