Population[edit]

According to www.leics.gov.uk/groby.pdf the population of Groby at the time of the 2001 census was 7301. Is it possible to add that statisic somewhere in the opening paragraph?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.107.46.31 (talkcontribs)

It is, and I have.--Michig (talk) 07:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History and photos.[edit]

I have one or two 1920's photos of Groby and intend to add these plus some details of the Everard family who lived in the village. JRPG (talk) 20:54, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm hoping over the next few months, to help local experts new to Wikipedia, provide a much fuller history section with references. JRPG (talk) 17:20, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds interesting, are there more details on this? Nev1 (talk) 00:14, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Nev1. I'm meeing someone with a good knowledge of the available sources on 23rd March. We should be able to get Groby Old Hall up to date. Groby railways attracted a visit from Robert Stephenson.
I'm aware that local archaeologists found flint arrow heads and there is a Roman road and a Roman quarry but how much we'll cover I don't know.
Have you got a particular interest because we'd welcome help and maybe could provide additional pointers? Feel free to email if you prefer. JRPG (talk) 21:45, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've replied via email. Nev1 (talk) 22:00, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
