Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --99.30.230.18 (talk) 19:19, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Because I came to Wikipedia for its content - she's regularly referenced in discussions about "Survivor" game play.

I struggle to understand why a person voted off first in both seasons and has zero impact on the game deserves an entry on wikipedia compared to players who have gone on to win! 62.60.118.38 (talk) 08:18, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I struggle to understand why you give a damn so much. Go put that anger towards something else. The few black, hell minority contestants on survivor hardly ever get recognition. Go suck a penis or something. MouthlessBobcat (talk) 08:40, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I also struggle to understand why a person voted off first in both seasons and has zero impact on the game deserves an entry on wikipedia compared to players who have gone on to win. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.242.65.112 (talk) 00:28, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is Francesca Hogi. I don't have an opinion as to whether or not I warrant a Wikipedia page, but the fact that some complete strangers with no ties to my actual life have such strong opinions that it should be deleted serves as evidence to the contrary. Just saying. If you think others "deserve" one over me, go create it! And thanks to whoever created this one! Dearfranny (talk) 21:04, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I propose a merge to List of Survivor (U.S. TV series) contestants as per precedent set by this AfD for Russell Hantz. Hogi played twice and was an equal contributor in both, therefore she should be redirected to the contestant list over either of the two seasons she appeared in. Even though she appeared in two seasons, this still falls under WP:BLP1E, as she is not notable outside of the series, and is barely notable within the series itself. As I stated in this article's first AfD, "there is no information on her page right now that would not fit on the pages for both seasons. As other editors stated, her statistic is trivial and does not merit having her own page," and "the African-American reality stars list is not cited and, after a brief search as suggested by [ User:DrumstickJuggler ], I can't find it. Also, the Dalton Ross quote ("Nobody has given you as much praise as we have.") is not in the cited article and, as discovered after another quick search, is only found on the Wikipedia page in question and other pages that have been lifted directly from it. [...] All of the properly cited and notable information already exists in the Redemption Island and Caramoan pages, and the information in the "Reception" section is either trivial, uncited or cited from a non-reputable source. Using Survivor Sucks as evidence for someone's reception is not valid, as there are supportive and non-supportive threads for nearly every player that has played Survivor." - Katanin (talk) 19:37, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

sounds like you should open a new AfD. Frietjes (talk) 19:40, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just following Cavarrone's suggestion to start a discussion in the talk page considering both AfDs so far were plagued by ad hominems and purported sockpuppets. i guess if this leads nowhere I'll start one tomorrow. - Katanin (talk) 02:21, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
when you start one, see if you can coordinate it with an admin so it can be semi-protected. this should cut down a bit on the sock puppets. Frietjes (talk) 14:05, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - The list of the survivor contestants is a simply tabular list. A Redirect to Survivor: Caramoan where her microscopic claim to fame of being voted out first in two seasons is mentioned provides a bit more information. I have no strong objections to List of Survivor (U.S. TV series) contestants as the target for a redirect. -- Whpq (talk) 18:24, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I fully support merging and redirecting to Survivor: Caramoan per the above discussion. 174.252.16.14 (talk) 11:12, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • The page should be redirected, per above. 64.134.102.69 (talk) 13:44, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I also support a redirect, even the subject herself says she isn't notable enough to have her own page. The page itself should be redirect to List of Survivor (U.S. TV series) contestants and the text should be somehow merged to Survivor: Caramoan. JacobyEasox (talk) 19:56, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support meeging per above. 198.228.200.18 (talk) 17:00, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disapprove merge. I created the article so of course I would like it to stay in tact. Why don't' you guys create a Russell Hantz article and properly source and ref it and give supportive enough reception references. That seems to be your only defense is that she has an article but Russell Hantz doesn't. I don't know why he doesn't. I heard he has like a couple spin off television shows and he has been on quite a few seasons. 108.13.115.48 (talk) 07:06, 4 May 2013 (UTC) Signed - MouthlessBobcat (talk) 07:28, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So you guys are just gonna redirect the article just like that? Not even giving at least a week to consider the article creator's consensus. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MouthlessBobcat (talkcontribs) 04:47, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Reply - The abovce discussion has been open for a week. If you do not believe it represents consensus, them you should request an administrator to review the closure. I have done so just to move things along. -- Whpq (talk) 10:29, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I agree that this should be contested given how recently the associated AfDs closed as keep, and the number of sock votes which have contaminated those discussions. Frietjes (talk) 16:35, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I read the two AfDs before closing this discussion. One was no consensus and the other was speedy kept because of socks, so neither one was really a keep. When closing this discussion, I took into account the previous socking, and still thought there was consensus for a merge. Cheers. -Nathan Johnson (talk) 16:43, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
and how many sock votes do you think we had here? Frietjes (talk) 18:07, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think any of the registered accounts were socking besides the blocked one. If you do, you should open an SPI. The IPs might have been the same person... or not. In my opinion, it did not matter whether the IPs were one person or three; there was still a consensus to merge/redirect this article. -Nathan Johnson (talk) 20:51, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • That doesn't mean to redirect the article. I'm not gonna let you guys get your way. Not this time. Especially the reverse racism that is around it. \ MouthlessBobcat (talk) 09:54, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
