When identifying Eliza's early life and family information, she is referred to as Eliza H. Allen in the two cited sources. If you want to change - or perhaps edit - the sentence about her name, you need a citedreliable source, it cannot be from unpublished and uncited sources.
With a source for Elizabeth Allen, perhaps the sentence could state, "Born on December 2, 1809, near Gallatin, Tennessee, Elizabeth Allen,[add source] commonly referred to as Eliza H. Allen,[3][4] was the daughter of Laeticia Saunders and John Allen, a wealthy plantation owner of Allendale.[3][4]"
I am not sure that it's technically required to add the sentence both after the name and at the end of the sentence, but it will 1) provide clarity that the name came from and 2) keep the source information if someone inserts information mid-sentence.–CaroleHenson (talk) 10:00, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As an FYI, I would have thought that Eliza Allen Houston would make sense, but there are more hits as Eliza Houston, so that is why the article is name "Eliza Houston", per WP:COMMONNAME.–CaroleHenson (talk) 10:23, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
