December 2023[edit]

There is much that could be added to this article. Searching back issues of the NY Times shows that the fleet eventually became the favored immigration route to the US from Russia. Under the communist regime it had a monopoly. I must recheck, but I believe according to the Ellis Island website, my ancestors came to the US on one of their ships in 1907.
