Iron Man[edit]

Caps shield (WW2 version?) is seen in Starks lab in the new Iron Man film.

Captain America Film 1990 correction[edit]

It is my understanding that it did play in cinemas, but only outside the US, its country of origin. It was intended for theaters here, but went direct-to-video instead, so does the comment belong or not? --Ted Watson (talk) 21:54, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article for TV movies?[edit]

I think, and submit, that the two late 70s made-for-TV movies probably deserve their own article. By that I mean one article covering both, with a pair of infoboxes. As part of the same development deal, Doctor Strange didn't go beyond one feature/pilot, which has its own article, so why not this pair? Moving TFA:Captain America to its own page[edit]

As the producers are down to the final four or five candidates for Steve Rogers/Captain America and Hugo Weaving is in final talks to play Red Skull[3], as well as having a more-or-less set in stone release date, etc, I've moved TFA: Captain America to its own page. --WTRiker (talk) 05:38, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Official costume"[edit]

The claim about the "official costume" is from an unbylined article from a non-mainstream online publication that does not give any indication where the images ostensibly originated. Given the large number of fan images that have circulated, and the propensity for hoaxes in fan communities, this in no way can be considered a reliable source. Captain America references in media[edit]

In the reference section, while all other entries are indeed references to Captain America himself or showing his gear, the following two entries are actually not references but either archive footage or cameos. These should be moved to the Captain America in other media#Marvel Studios section as it clearly belongs there more as the actor/character actually appear on screen and not only talked about. --Gonnym (talk) 10:27, 10 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The 2013 Marvel One-Shot short film Agent Carter features the exploits of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) one year after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, and features a flashback of Carter's final communication with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).
  • In the 2013 film Thor: The Dark World, Chris Evans makes an uncredited cameo appearance as Loki masquerading as Captain America.

(MCU) Rogers no longer Captain America[edit]

I'll come back after I find a reference. The Russo Brothers, the directors of Civil War, have said that Steve is no longer Captain America after he dropped the shield at the end of the battle with Stark. Should we put this here? Batman3095 (talk) 22:26, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Captain America (the band)[edit]

In the early 1990s, Eugene Kelly of The Vaselines formed a new band which he called Captain America. Marvel Comics threatened a lawsuit over Kelly's violation of their trademark and he changed the band's name to Eugenius.

Hence, we have

  • who then started a new band which caused a notable action, the threat of a lawsuit, which caused the band to change its name. Said band then itself became notable under its new name Eugenius
  • This was reported contemporaneously in the Los Angeles Times in 1992.

This was not some teenager living in his parents' basement who triggered Marvel Comics' legal department. It was a musician who is notable enough to be the subject of *three* Wikipedia articles (his own plus the two bands). Therefore, it is worth noting on this article as well.

Finally, while tracking down these references, I found a photo of Kurt Cobain of Nirvana wearing one of the band's t-shirts which greatly amused me as both a fan of comics and alternative rock
