Needs merging[edit]

from The Goon Show cast members and characters

Bluebottle, young lecherous Boy Scout and idiot from Finchley. He is usually a playmate or companion of Eccles and can usually be persuaded to carry out any task, however dangerous, in return for a quarter of dolly mixtures. Bluebottle is always willing to help anyone, but normally is as bad at interpreting instructions as Eccles is and frequently ends up being "deaded" (killed), usually by a huge explosion. The voice and character were inspired by an actual person, one Ruxton Hayward, a scout-master in full uniform with bushy beard, who tried to hire Peter Sellers to appear in a stage show.

It has been suggested that Bluebottle be merged with Ruxton Hayward. I don't think they should be merged. The article on Ruxton Hayward contains information irrelevant to the goons. Man with two legs 19:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely. It would make no sense to put the irrelevant information into the article on Bluebottle, and removing it would be a pity. Leave them separate. 83.103.94.4 14:58, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kenny[edit]

What relationship, if any, is there between Bluebottle and [a certain character] from "South Park"? 128.147.38.10 13:13, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Only a speculatory one, without a sourced statement from the people behind South Park.--Drat (Talk) 14:27, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There's Fred in Spain on Twitter, not a great citation though... https://twitter.com/Fred_in_Spain/status/736539723821355009 It's completely true of course. Thelisteninghand (talk) 23:50, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
