Title of the article[edit]

I titled this article Antoine Alexis Perier de Salvert and not Antoine Alexis Perier, because even if his legal name of birth was "Perier", he was later known under the name "Perier de Salvert":

  • It appears that he was born on the legal name "Perier" - see his baptismal certificate reported by de Bertrand, Raymond (1861), Notice historique sur Antoine-Alexis Perier de Salvert (in Mémoires de la Société dunkerquoise pour l'encouragement des sciences, des lettres et des arts) [Historical notice on Antoine-Alexis Perier de Salvert] (in French), Société dunkerquoise pour l'encouragement des sciences, des lettres et des arts, p. 256
  • Several sources indicate that later he was known as "Perier de Salvert" (Intermediary for researchers and curious, Michel Vergé-Franceschi, Les Normands officiers généraux de la Marine Royale aux XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles, Olivier Chapuis, A la mer comme au ciel etc,)
  • Raymond de Betrand in Notice historique sur Antoine-Alexis Perier de Salvert write: "It is to be believed that it was about the time of his marriage in 1729 that Perier added to his surname, the name of Salvert" -see de Bertrand, Raymond (1861), Notice historique sur Antoine-Alexis Perier de Salvert (in Mémoires de la Société dunkerquoise pour l'encouragement des sciences, des lettres et des arts) [Historical notice on Antoine-Alexis Perier de Salvert] (in French), Société dunkerquoise pour l'encouragement des sciences, des lettres et des arts, p. 240.
  • In his burial certificate he was named "Perier de Salvert" [Archives des Yvelines, registre de Notre Dame, year 1757 folio 29: April, 8 1757, burial certificate of Antoine Alexis Perier de Salvert.

This article needs to be shorter[edit]

I tried to do my best but I think this article is still too long with too much details on his career as in a resume (borring). To be compared for exemple with Claude de Forbin much more famous. The main source relating to Antoine Alexis Perier de Salvert is Notice historique sur Antoine-Alexis Perier de Salvert written in 1861 (!) by Raymond de Bertrand, I think that rather than copying entire paragraphs of this little bit obsolete source (too panegyric as often at this time) a synthesis should be made. Antoine Alexis de Perier de Salvert[edit]

Belyny His name was not "Perier de Salvert" but "de Perier de Salvert". Do not repeat this mistake made by too many authors. As you know he was ennobled in 1726 and "Perier de Salvert" (Before 1724) became "de Perier de Salvert". Your introduction that presents the evolution of his name is unnecessarily long.Savary34 (talk) 08:08, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Belyny Hi, you have just deleted all my work using the abusive pretext of sources. Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia.   • You removed content with sources and reference without any reasons and without any discuss and consensus on Talk page.
